Where do Paysites get most of their sales from?

I'd have to say from affiliates - if they run a decent pay site then they'll have a quality affiliate program backing it...

I would say SEO is more important than review sites. Having a strong rank on Google will result in excellent sale conversions.

I get most of my sales from Google. So, I would be in the SEO crowd. But guys who are much more successful than me tend to sign up with something like NATS and then they get most of their sales from affilliates.

affiliates IMO for sure.. with out an army of marketers you would have to be amazing with traffic IMo to run a paysite by yourself

you could also get targeted traffic thru text ads with www.GooSearch.com

1. Other programs through Exits and cross sales

2. Inhouse traffic or Affilliate traffic

3. Type Ins

Everything else varies wildly with the programs.

Some rely on affiliates for most of it.

Some generate an ungodly amount of internal taffic through their own TGP's and other methods like The Bang Bros do with Sublime Directory.

Also, a lot of the top names are generating 20-30% of their traffic through type ins.

Not long ago I read that paysites realize 60% of their sales through affiliate marketers. As far as SEO is concerned, look at the source code for many of the major sponsors' most popular sites. They're not very well SEO'd... most have a lackluster title in the metatags and completely lack a description tag.

I have tons of great ranks and i never wrote a description tag in my life. I do like to spam titles though.

On page shit is almost meaningless with the monstrous ammount of link power some of those domains have.

Many quality established programs (and even smaller site owners) see much success from their internal traffic (so all traffic that belongs to them thru galleries, organic SE listings from quality targeted keywords, exits from other sites, upselling and so on).
