    Patriots are scumbag cheaters?

    appears to be that way - it's a fine edge in the NFL that seperates the winners from the losers and it looks like the Patriots fine edge advantage was a cheater's edge.

    can't take away Super Bowl championships but they are now tainted.

    the problem here is that nobody really knows what advantage the Patriots got but that's their problem now - they can say anything they want now but for those of us looking on the Pats now have no credibility so history now will be re-written and a dynasty tarnished.

    funny how a 6th round draft pick who was barely a starting quarterback in college became Mr MVP of the NFL so easily.

                      that's the problem - we don't know yet and maybe we will never know exactly what they were doing or how/when they used the information. i know the other teams in their division have long thought they were doing things like this, i'm sure more info and speculation will be coming out.

                      it could have meant very little or it could have been a significant edge.

                          They should take away their Superbowls and have a lottery so all teams could win the three championships and organise their own parade. ROFL

                          If you think about it, it's the only way half of the teams of the NFL can ever win a championship in the next 15 years (Oakland, NY Jets, Browns, Texans, Cards, Bengals, Bills, Dolphins, etc, etc)

                                      Ina league where people get suspended and fined left and right, the Patriots get a slap on the wrist for blatant cheating... and the league knows they've been doing it forever.

                                      That sets a great example. </sarcasm>

                                      Maybe they shoulda taken a page out of the book of the F1 world, and fined them 100 million dollars for the transgression.

                                              It's worse than Barry Bonds. Barry Bonds was unfairly boosting his natural state, the Pats were straight out cheating.

                                                  I'm going to have to go with swampthing on this. I can't believe they were the first to do it, just the first to get caught. When I heard the news report about it the other day, I was thinking about coaches all over the country: NFL, college, high school, whatever; all saying "fucking shit goddamnit shit...those fucker's just ruined my next couple of seasons".

                                                  Even though I disagree with you on variations of cheating (Barry wasn't cheating to win games, he was cheating to win personal titles, in my own opinion), your post makes me wonder when the baseball scandal comes out that some "spectator" in the outfield with some binocs was peeping signals from the catcher to the pitcher, then relaying them to a baseline coach who could alert the batter via hand signals of what was coming down the pipe.
