        As I read this thread I notice a lot of people discouraging others from getting into this business. I'm new, so new that I don't really understand most of the concepts discussed in the forums. I've built a site and still trying to get it to where I will have return traffic.

        I started promoting a site that I'm a member of, my cash out this month was $1100.00. Every month my checks are getting bigger.

        Currently I am scanning the forums and trying to learn everything I can. Please don't let people discourage you. In my short time doing this I've learned that you get what you put into this business. I've put a lot of hours into this, I've got a lot more to go. I'm not going anywhere!!!!

            I think where people fault is mainly when they try to skip the learning process... its easiest if you set your expectations on something real, like a small goal... maybe 1 signup a day, or 1 a WEEK if its ur first day...

            put the effort into your sites... try to learn from people and innovate... then apply changes and tune until you find what works for you. there are tons of ways to make $$... even outside of adult.

                                    Knowledge is the number one reason that people succeed or fail online. You can have tons of determination and work 100 hours a week, but if you're hard work is focused in the wrong areas then the outcome will be less than stellar.

                                    Specifically knowledge about how to bring quality traffic to your site. Of course before you can bring any traffic you have to build a site. Design is important, navigation is key and so is your internal linking structure. Do you want to focus in on a particular niche? What niche should you promote? In my humble opinion I think one might consider promoting a niche they enjoy in their personal life.

                                    Content is king, but not if no one knows your site exists. I strongly recommend all newbies educate themselves about SEO and link building. Blah, blah, blah I'll shut up now.

How many people have tried to become successful insurance sales agents but failed? Does that mean there is no money in going from doorstep to doorstep trying to sell life insurances? No, of course there is money for the to be made for the right people with the right training and skill set. Determination and working 100 hour weeks helps, too.

                                                                        Then again, for those that prefer to put no work into it and hope to make "a little spending money on the side" without investing any money or time and looking to work two hours a week probably have a lower success rate.

                                                                        You will see BS posts all the time of people who brag they spend 20 minutes a day and make $50k net a week. God bless them and I wish them all the luck in the world but don't be misled by their stories. All the people I know that made real money in adult worked until their eyes bleed and they suffered from insomnia. And that's unfortunately merely a prerequisite, not a guarantee for success.

I am new at everything so I am learning to do all of the mgt from scratch. I think it really does take more than just motivation and dedication to make money in the online business.                                                                                                                 That's why I didn't even BEGIN to start even putting together a site until I felt comfortable with the inner workings of this business. Not to say that I know it all, because fuck...I don't, but I'm more knowledgeable now than I was when I first started researching this shit (August '06). Right now, I'm working on creating a dating blog. Should be up and running by the end of this week.

                                                                                                                    about year & half ago I said fuck working for other people & went full time online self employment.

                                                                                                                    Today I have hundreds of websites that include tgp, blogs, directories, link lists, paysites, affiliate program & mainstream sites.

                                                                                                                    My income consists of payments from sponsors, paysite memberships & ad sales revenue, and yes I can afford the mortgage payment and all my bills get paid & there's money left over too after paying overhead costs.

                                                                                                                    Although the income isn't stable as it fluctuates every month, it is enough that it is at least 100% more than if I worked offline elsewhere and I get to work when I want, my time is flexible & I have more time for other things like family & fun & I can take time off whenever I want and I don't have to wait til payday for a check since I get epass & checks almost every day.

                                                                                                                        yes you can make money. I don't own a site, I just work for one. I don't do TGP, MPG, or blogs.... I just run the site and make sure the content is current and we maintain an appropriate amount of affiliate content for our cash program. We have 3 employees including the owner. We retain members. We do well for ourselves. We don't drive around in Ferraris or anything, but I have a brand new (07) accord, pay my mortgage, child support, health insurance, Netflix, cable, cellphone, internet, gas, power, etc... all from working hard and making sure we are doing the best that we can do everyday... it's a hard business. You have to keep your nose to the grindstone, you have to network, you have to be in the right places at the right time. Content is king! You have to put out to get back. Our overhead eats most of our profit. You have to believe in what you are doing. It takes time... months... years....

                                                                                                                                                I got into the webmaster biz because it didn't require any credit/background checks as a condition of employment. I used to make well over $100k as a systems development specialist. However, some stupid mistakes (drugs), felonies/prison and a chapter 7 bankruptcy later.. that'll never happen again so I am pretty much stuck. That being said, I have been struggling lately to make ends meet, however, I am hoping things turn around someday. I have to make it work because I can't fucking work anywhere.

                                                                                                                                                    Well, I am not going to give out any hard numbers as far as my income because it's really nobodys business but I do make a nice living off of working as an adult webmaster. I make enough money to pay my $2500.00 mortgage payment every month, $800.00 per month in web hosting, $700.00 per month in online advertising, $650.00 per month for my new BMW Z-3 car payment...among MANY other payments that I need to make every month.
