ultram was the pain reliever that my urologist prescribed me for use on a regular basis for the pain associated with my kidney disease - because it is non-narcotic and supposedly non-addictive.

if you're hoping it'll be fun or feel like an opiate (like vicoden), you're likely to be disappointed.

I used to take Tramadol alot, only because it was prescribed to me and I had back pain, it's not something you can get addicted to, although I did take it only when I needed it. It did me well, but the most that I've heard from doctors is that it'll pretty much make me forget about the pain. Which it also did.
Although the one thing I realized is that when you take it, it will get your really hyper and awake, and sometime if you take it at night, you wouldn't be able to sleep because of it unless you went RIGHT to bed.
