Well, a couple of things...
1. If your photos or 8x10s were to be found under that mattress, then that means your items indeed had to be sold to begin with. What happens after that is not something that is in your control. Same thing would apply to digital pictures or videos too.
2. Magazines, especially the back issues are themselves becoming very collectible again. Take a look at the recent ended listings in just the regular section of ebay for Penthouse mags alone...

Magazines, like all collectibles, ride a roller coaster, but sales are solid and continuous and showing signs of steady growth. Production rates on any collectibles do not have to be the 'same as it ever was' in order to be profitable. We are not living in the heyday of the 80's or '90s for sure, but that does not mean there is not considerable profits to be made or that there are not collectors coming into the market every day. The costs of production now are unbelievably low, which does allow for very nice returns on investment.
Though i don't really know anything at all about the shemale market, but the 'babe' & 'porn star' market would be something I know as very viable.
Again, I dont speak of this as a replacement for digital, only as ONE alternative
