For me personally, I don't think photography with this type of lighting is appropriate for shooting nudes. I prefer lighting that sets a mood that is sexy and erotic and not something that resembles a forensic lab. There is a reason people dim the lights or burn candles or build a fire. I can't imagine bringing a girl into a bedroom and turning on all the lights and tipping the lamp shades to direct the light before getting busy
It might be cool for someone that wants to see a nice bright clear shot of a naked girl but it does nothing to create a mood or stir feelings. For years Playboy set the bar for the kind of photography that I'm talking about. You would never see this type of lighting in a Playboy pictorial however it is very common in the fashion world.
The fundamental difference between Fashion and Glamour photography is the lighting. In Fashion the light is usually bright to highlight the clothes and in Glamour its more subdued to create mood and hide the model's flaws.
The bottom line is any photograph is a success if it came out the way you wanted it to.
A photograph becomes a commercial success if you can create it and sell it.
