The only reason they do well is the high amount of traffic. Which for now makes up for the poor ratios.
It was fact that my experience with Tube traffic was that if 1,000s clicked a link. Eventually one would join. Yes they sent me 1,000s of clicks. Still proves ratios were crap. It was one of the top Tubes, also submitted a lot of samples to Tubes and found the same thing.
The average Joe, wouldn't be in business if he had done as little work as we had for the last 3 years. Eva had a car accident in July 2008, that came withing centimeters of taking her life. She was unable to work for 6 months. February 2009 I found out the lump on the side of my neck was a cancer tumor, one of 3. I was given a 20% chance of living and even then without a tongue. The cancer was in the base of my tongue and throat.
So we decided to close the business. I'm a registered invalid and without me driving the business it was pointless keeping it going. We just kept the stores and site open to take what ever money was there. 2009 was a great year profit wise, we had little costs. 2010 definitely showed a decrease, which had continued through 2011. Will probably shut up shop and sell the stores out at blow out prices sometime in 2012.

In 1977 I nearly went bankrupt and only came back to porn to earn money to pay off debts. 1980 onwards I was a very successful salesman selling entire installations of office furniture, a couple of years in the 6 figure area. Bought a two story apartment in London and put a lot of money into pensions. During my good years, I was a bit of a miser, no flash car, no big house, just putting money into things I knew would be sound.
Money which Eva and I can live off for the rest of my life for sure and probably hers. The money we took the last 3 years, has all been bunce = free money. Just more money and as everyone says "Don't leave money on the table."
The fact we're still taking money 3 years after effectively closing the business proves we weren't so stupid.
You're dead right, I never spent a lot of time pushing other people products. Do you have a clue what shooting for magazines involves and the profits that can be made from a single set?
