Most artists want people listening to their shit by any means necessary. They used to mail CD's with $100 bills behind the disc to radio stations to bribe DJ's into giving them some rotation. Now why the fuck would an artist pay to have someone "steal" their music and broadcast it for free? Because they make their money on shows and merchandise. It's their stupid lobby / interest groups that want to stop piracy so bad and only because they can't figure out how to get paid from it.
