    You people who think the chinese military is a match for ours are fucking pathetic.

    It's not about mass of men, it's about technology. Our navy is so superior to anything else in the world that not a single solitary ship from another country would ever make it to our shore to land troops. Not one fucking ship, not one fucking platoon would ever step foot on our soil.

    It's like comparing an army of 1 million swordsmen against an army of 10K machine gunners. Who do you think would win that one?

                                        UPDATE: the afghan war is still going on ( aside from the hunt for Bin Laden).

                                        BTW, the soviets stayed in Afghanistan for quite a while, taking casualties from the insurgents supported by the USA ....

                                                    Size of military is more or less unimportant these days. In a war with a major country like China, a push of a button can wipe out an entire city for generations.

                                                    Militarily, most experts will tell you that China is still decades behind us. Besides that, they have no strategic geographical allies that would threaten us. We have bases throughout the world, and many very close to China. One of the reasons the US doesn't get attacked on the homeland is because of the difficulty in getting troops into the country.

                                                    But all of this is pointless. No one is going to go to war with anyone here. China's economy relies on us just like we rely on them. We're turning into a global economy that makes it beneficial to everyone to stay peaceful.

                                                                                                                                                                            The world powers are changing and changing fast, Even Russia has threatened to re activate all of its nukes and point them at the rest of europe and all because the USA wanted to build a nuke defense system in Poland to protect Britain against a nuke attack, A couple of weeks back The Russians flew bombers into British air space and the British scrambled fighters to intercept them, what gets me is why all of a sudden is Russia trying to flex its military power and doing big oil deals with China, because as you know Russia has a lot of natural resources including oil, I think if ever a war between China and the USA happened in the near future The USA would have a tough time because the US Troops are so streched allready, The USA and Britian have been fighting wars and spending huge amounts of money and China and Russia have not , so who would last in a long drawn out war, or who would run out of money first, or push the button..just my thoughts

                                                                                                                                                                                            Honestly, ONE ICBM is all they need to get off the ground, and if they can get 10 or 20, it's closing time for the USA even if we do out number their ICBMs by 1000s. They send up 10, we send up 1000, does it matter at that point?
