    I've figured out why GFY is so damn slooooooooooooooow

    You know, if GFY would just ban all these damn posting contests I'll bet money that this place would be 100x faster. All these fucking bots and contest post whores hitting F5 every 2 seconds slows this place down to a near stop. I wonder how many people in this industry have already left this board because of this. I used to like this place, but I hardly ever come over here anymore because I can't stand the unbelievable loading times (on those times that the page actually does load). If I wanted the 14.4k modem experience I wouldn't be paying for a high-speed broadband connection...

                                  Assuming there's some sort of load balancer setup (not just a single server) and it's not the mysql server which is slow, I'm sure many members would be happy to pay a reasonable membership fee in order to get access to a server/servers dedicated for the purpose.

                                                                              It's slow because there are years worth of retarded, racist, pointless, dramatic, and the occasional informative threads that have fuckered up the servers so bad they are trying to commit suicide.

                                                                              Should delete the old threads or move them out of the Owen Wilson server to something a little more stable.
