It has nothing to do with malware most likely. Just change your (edit
PASSWORD and you should be cool.

99.9% chance someone got your password from some other list they bought / stole / hacked online. Once they find out that you were [email protected] with a pass of 12121212 on pornworld.com they try those strings on yahoo, gmail, facebook, myspace, twitter, etc.

I remember when this happened to me. All my business contacts, my lawyer, cpa, et-cetera received an email from me on how to increase their penis size. It was the first and only time I ever logged in on a public wifi. Lesson learned.Email: fenris_wolf3000 (a t ) yah00 . c 0 m

If they actually logged into Gmail it should. It's possible there is a script out there that lets one use your Gmail credentials to mail from your account without logging in or even a simpler explanation. I'm no pro by far, I've just read about this stuff.
No problem. I'd keep an eye on the sent folder but I'd be surprised if it keeps happening. The emails that got sent were probably something like "Hey (friends name), I tried this new diet and it really worked. I figured you might want to read about it."
There is a chance you have something on your end but that wouldn't explain the no IP logged in. You said the computer was offline when the email was sent, does it show your IP logged in at that time or just nothing? Should show your IP if they just took over your computer.
