i had a couple ideas for you , if you want to get some support/use from the community you should tie in a short url service like in mainstream. If sites use "ENTER EXIT" on homepage and they run the links through a short url service with a .xxx link it will help site owner ensure he/she is doing what he/she can to filter minors

That's very tempting to buy some of them like pig.xxx or dog.xxx ... but $100 for each and then every year who knows how much... nah... also the future of .xxx tld is uncertain.
All in all, after years I know that every name can be positioned to the no.1 in search engines for any keyword it only takes time & work.

i suppose the idea behind a short/memorable domain is the return visitors remembering the domain, more than the se benefits of having keyword.tld

We ended up with .xxx because we all ignored it and assumed it would go away.

so the fact they made it appear the industry supported .xxx ( a criteria for getting it ) and the adult industry didn't do more to make it known we didn't has nothing to do with us ignoring it ? it has everything to do with it.. It never would have been approved and was denied in the past based on this, but when they got it approved the adult industry was not there in opposition because we were busy ignoring it..

I'm not posting numbers (or lists) beyond the numbers available in press releases and what I've already mentioned.

There should be 5 responses to the whois queries. - not found, reserved, premium reserved, performer reserved, and the usual registrant info.

ICM knew that .XXX would not work when the majority of the adult community denounced it - They also knew that .XXX could not be enforced as a way of keeping porn off the other TLDs.

ICM then resorted to blackmail. You know it, I know it and anyone following this sorry saga knows it.

it seems that 'reserved by registry' is also the term that .xxx uses when external parties have reserved the domain during the first few reservation phases.
the ones that say 'premium reserved' are the ones that the .xxx is keeping for themselves to auction off later.

There's always 12 months later, when the renewals come due @ $100 a shot.

.xxx is for porn only, a place where porn will find new land and new profit, so why would ICM not reserve such great PORN domains like badger.xxx, cat.xxx, cheetah.xxx and elephant.xxx (Have you seen their TV spots? ICM LOVES ANIMALS!)

And OF COURSE nationally known brand names like: celtics.xxx, coke.xxx, dial.xxx, fender.xxx, ferrari.xxx, gucci.xxx, ibm.xxx, macintosh.xxx, playboy.xxx, porsche.xxx, subway.xxx, toyota.xxx, SHOULD be "Reserved" when the bulk of those (sans Playboy) would NEVER be thought of as "porn" nor would they prob want to be tied to porn.

And since it's ALLLLLL about PORN, names like: batman.xxx, snoopy.xxx, garfield.xxx and DISNEY.XXX should also be reserved and NOT locked down because of their links to children, a PORN TLD MUST have children friendly names!

Especially Disney.xxx since they just LOVE IT when people make porn using their trademarked children's characters, in fact they love it so much I've heard they go out of their way to contact those people just to say thank you!

Personally I think you're 5 years too late. The latest to of launched this scheme was 2006. After that Tubes and the development of the industry made your task of skimming off some cream from the top become harder. By 2011 the future is clear. The little man is so squeezed they dropping off by the day, big companies are picking up the slack and traffic. They will sue you for using their name.

How many people are going to want to spend millions to get .xxx domains is your problem.

Reserving a lot of names only works if you have a lot of buyers willing to pay your price for them. I'm small and own 30 domain I think. If you dream I'm going to spend $3,000 a year to renew them all. Dream on. $300, not a problem.

And that's a situation you'll face every year at renewal time. How many people are there able to renew.

No doubt you'll make some money, if you don't spend to much marketing this. but you're 5 years too late. IMO
