I always bring my phone to the gym... I like being able to be gotten ahold of. I'm not a big chatter or anything, so if someone is calling me it's generally for a good reason.
But no, I'm not going to stand sit there on a bench talking on the phone for 15 minutes, I'll generally find out why they're calling, tell them I'll call them back, and hang up.
What makes the gym so special? What annoys me way more is the awful music most of them play.Comment

it's a damn non sense, I even hat people chatting all the time - how can you chat if you need to keep the pauses short and concentrate ? (or I used to hate, no secret I haven't been in a gym for a while)

Fuck I hate that. The one day I forgot to plug in my IPod and had to go without it, I got stuck next to a woman on the treadmill that talked on her phone for 30 minutes straight about the most ridiculous shit. I got so pissed, I wanted to turn up the speed really quick and see how long it would take to put the phone down to save her own ass.
My guess would be she would take the fall and keep the convo going. Dumb bitch.

I can't even stand to have my phone on me while in the gym. I leave everything in the car except water. If someone does have their phone on them and just says "hey .. I'm at the gym I'll call you back" its fine but don't sit there chatting while you have a dumbbell or a machine that someone else may want. use it and move on. its the same with these groups of 2-3 guys that sit around between sets and bullshit. you shouldn't take more the 90 sec between sets anyway. I do a full body part in 20-30 Min's and then run. some of these guys are there for 2 hours because they bullshit so much. I'm lucky because my gym has 15" LCD TV's at every treadmill / running machine with its own controls. I just pop in my head phones and watch a 30 min show while i run. i don't have to hear the bitter house wife bad mouth her kids and husband to her friends on her pink crystal studded Razor phone. the fucking lady is in her 40's ...loose the fucking pink studded phone already. ..Last edited by MikeVega; 08-29-2007, 03:34 PM.
