    Isn't National A-1 hotmovies.com? (possible drama)

    So it's the 1st of the month and I'm balancing my checkbook and notice some $80 charges yesterday from STC SAWA RECHARGE RIYHAD SA...and I'm like WTF?? Saudi Arabia??

    So I call the bank and they give me the 1-800 number to call. (800-461-9800)

    There's nobody there, it's a recording telling me that "national a-1 has been in business over 15 years" blah blah blah.

    So I look at my bank statement again and notice I bought some time from hotmovies.com the day before with the same card. (and they are owned by a company called national a-1)

    Then my wife shows me this

    Apparently the charges are for prepaid phone cards in Saudi Arabia, and it appears this is happening to ALOT of people.

    Normally I would just assume somebody's database got hacked or something, but the fact that national a-1 is the name of the company on the 1-800 numbers recording makes me go hmmmmmmm.

    Has this happened to anyone else here?

          national a1 owns domains worth tens of millions of USD.... not sure they would have the need to do some shady shit through Saudi Arabia

              I'm sure it's a fuckup somewhere in the woodpile, Hotmovies has enough income, they don't need to scam nor do I think they are the type of people to do so.

                      I agree it wouldn't make sense for a company like this to be involved...but why is their phone number the one the bank gave me for the $80 charges from Saudi Arabia?

                              National A-1 also owns tons of phone numbers too, they may have given you a wrong number.

                              Something similar has also happened before, where someone scamming listed one our numbers in their bill descriptor.

                                  I got hit by this scam also, just got my CC statement and got 3 charges from this Saudi Arabia crap that i can see so far

                                  I'm thinking it has to do with registerfly
                                  just filled out my forms to send to the CC company for a chargeback and cancelled that card
                                  now i see how long this has been going on, i can't believe my credit card company (VISA in my case) keeps letting these charges go through.

                                          unless all the people in that thread you linked to are not admitting that there were also porn purchases they made on their card this has nothing to do with HotMovies and their parent corp. i'm sure it has nothing to do with them. it does look like a huge scam from the number of people reporting the same thing.

                                                  just a warning to everybody who had/has an account at registerfly (most likely i think) or even paypal
                                                  these are the 2 names that come up frequently
