Benching 400 for one or two reps won`t get you huge or ripped necessarily. 5 - 8 reps is optimum for building muscle and higher numbers still for definition. I`ve been training with heavy weights since my teens and am currently about 18 stone (about 250 pounds) and although I`m too thick around the middle (no abs) I am very strong and in reasonably good shape.
