When I left my telco job, I received all of my vacation/personal time/ etc in a lump sum check withing 2 weeks or my resigning (decided to go into adult full time). I also ended up cashing out my pensions/401k or whatever they were at the time. I had some money that was left from union years, and the other remaining management.
It was a decent chunk o' change all things considered.
