Here's why the girl would go back if she was in on it:

She figured he would be out of there by then and wanted to see your reaction first hand so she knew what was taken and what her cut was going to be, or the whole thing may have been based on the idea that her photos were on your camera and she wanted to make sure they were taken out of circulation.

Another thing: there need to be bars on all the windows. This will still not stop them from wrapping the bars in blankets to suppress sound and popping them off with a car jack but it will slow them down quite a bit and weed out the Haitian cat-burglars who cant typically afford car jacks or blankets.

i did film the girl outside just prior to leaving, was probably too involved with the camera to notice anything else. i've already got tons of pics of this girl so the camera/card theft doesn't add up. anyway no big deal life goes on
