    Just got back from 12 years in the DR.

    Those locals are required to have papers too, they just don't. Dominicans don't ever leave the house empty, there is always somebody there. Cause they know thieves will be in there the minute they see you leave.

    Why were there not bars on the bathroom window?

        Just saw your post on the DR board, be careful in that town, bad shit happens there all the time.

        And that DR board is filled with some of the most idiotic people who ever owned a computer. I advise you to change your username on there so its not similar to this one, because those fools do not need to know what you do for a living. They are idiots and some are idiots of the dangerous sort.

        I have hardly ever gotten a useful reply to a post there, unless I researched offline and wrote it myself.

        If something bad happens to you because you shoot content in the DR you wont be the first or the last. The only people I know who were successful with that were patient enough to leave the country before publishing anything.

                                Here's why the girl would go back if she was in on it:

                                She figured he would be out of there by then and wanted to see your reaction first hand so she knew what was taken and what her cut was going to be, or the whole thing may have been based on the idea that her photos were on your camera and she wanted to make sure they were taken out of circulation.

                                Another thing: there need to be bars on all the windows. This will still not stop them from wrapping the bars in blankets to suppress sound and popping them off with a car jack but it will slow them down quite a bit and weed out the Haitian cat-burglars who cant typically afford car jacks or blankets.
