Talk about a brutal hosting experience... Quadranet
Hey folks,
I don't often post in this section of the forums but thought I would share the brutal support service I am getting from the LA staff at Quadranet. I've had a server with these guys for 3 or 4 years now and found the server unresponsive Tuesday morning. I logged into my customer panel and found out that the previous evening they sent notification the hard drive failed. My alternate email was incorrect so I?ll take responsibility for the first 12 hours of downtime.
But as I write this post it is still not up and running. They offered to try cloning the drive which would cause minimal issues setting up the server again and informed me it would take about 12 hours and they had a 70% success rate. I tell them to go ahead around 6:15am on Nov 15th. Having received no response after 12 hours I inquired and told it was 70% completed.
I ended up crashing for the evening, figuring I?d have an answer in the morning and get started restoring if it had failed. I logged into the panel Nov. 16th at 4:50am and still no response so I update the trouble ticket once again. It appears it stalled at 73% but nobody had bothered to check on the progress.
So today they?ve been trying to locate a drive. The server had an IDE drive and they couldn?t locate another one to replace it with. 4 hours later they have a drive and are installing Centos only to find that they?re still having problems and it won?t boot. Another drive replacement, this time a SATA drive at 11:29am.
I?m told at 2:35 pm they?re re-racking the server and I should have access shortly. 5:00 pm still no server and no response. I am told there was an issue and everything had to be re-installed. 6:59 pm server comes back online but they didn?t install the control panel, which they say they will get installed. Another hour and a half rolls by so I ask for an update, only to find they haven?t even started installing and are asking for a client id.
Server is now down 50 hours with a bad hard drive. What a fucking joke. Here?s hoping that when I wake up in the morning it is actually online and I can begin recovering the data.
