Depends alot of niche and keywords, so average numbers aren't that helpful, seeing a full scale from 1:50 to 1:2800, average somewhere around 1:800.

Google traffic can be golden if very targetted, but without properly targetted keywords and corresponding sites, it can suck as well.

Don't you think it depends on how targeted the keywords is? Ratios can vary from 1:5 to 1:500+

im getting +-6000hits from google every week to my little lupe site for various little lupe keywords and im on about 1:8000 with them ... not so good imho

Most of the surfers searching for little lupe already know about her and are most likely existing or former members.

I don't think it's as much to do with G traffic being better
MY GUESS and it is a guess is if pages / site is seen as poor for G algo then a similar algo is applied to adsense i.e. quality of adds in relation to page contents

So basically what you people are saying is that more keywords brings better conversions? Because I'm sure that people who search for simple keywords like "lesbian" for example can buy something too and probably because those don't know much about internet (don't know that there is free porn too) and they'll pay before others.. but that's just my opinion

It does reaaaaallly depend on the keywords.

Sometimes I just grab 10k keywords and filter out the most obvious crapwords and setup some sites. I get a ratio of about 1:3000 with that kind of traffic. But sometimes better or worse.

But if I got really targeted keywords like "Sony Ericsson ga628 Battery" they convert MUCH better.
