Reminds me of advertising for turnkey paysites... the table also includes rebills and shows the number of members and rebills growing every month, along with your income. In their world, no one ever cancels a membership, they rebill forever.

Usually agree with you but don't here. I'm sure you know that sales will most likely decine the higher the membership price. What I'd like to see is a sales comparison between a site with average paysite content and a site that spent an assload on quality content. And see which profits more in the end with the same membership price keeping in mind that one of them spent a lot more on the content so that is cutting into the profit. Which I think is what Paul was getting at, not a higher membership price.

Edit: and after that, if the better quality site has raised less profit, raise the membership price to see if you can at least balance it out. If they are both equal the site with better content would be the winner.

Coming up with a new idea for a paysite theme is easy. Producing the product properly at a profit is hard, if not impossible for most. Simply because as I illustrated in another thread about the costs of running a paysite the profit margins aren't what most think they are.

As a content producer I see a different picture than affiliates. They see people prepared to pay out after a join is made, offering large payouts, if you hit ratios they don't expect, or shaving. OK a few come good.

I see the same people coming to content providers telling them they can't afford to spend much, asking me for my best rice, employing shooters who could never work in a better paying field. Today some do, as the better markets have shut or pay just as badly.

It's easy to come up with new ideas for paysites. Problem is few can afford it on their budget for the product. Cheaper to give away free porn and payout after the join is made. Now clowns can name a few sites who can afford and ignore the 99.9% who can't and think that makes them right.

This situation did not only apply to us and ST knows this or an idiot. It applied to every site paying peanuts for the product, compared to what others did pay for the same product. Today those other markets are gone and some good shooter are working for peanuts. Happily we don't have to. We made enough by not taking peanuts and let the other monkeys have them.

Ideas are like assholes. Most of the people that have crashed and burned in the last several years brought it on themselves. A lot of people can't afford a lot of shit right now, most of which has nothing to do with what you harp about daily.

The market sucks for many reasons, but not because they didn't hire you at overpriced rates for content. Shooters are working for peanuts like a huge chunk of the world are now working for peanuts because the economy sucks and this industry is going through some major change making their bread and butter from 5 years ago near worthless today. They are paying what the market will bare. I really doubt you made near what you are trying to claim and even if you did it's because a lot of shitty sites bought your shitty content for filler. The same sites you are bitching about today. I hate to talk about someones product but you are 'retired' so I'll go ahead. I have not seen one photo from you that I would call 'good' or 'high quality' or anything even close.
