Wasn't luck, it went as planned. Pack the defense, protect the goal and hope to get a break.
Spain kept trying to ball pass through a packed defense, they rarely changed that tactic. They were continually stopped by England. The goal keeper had a fairly quiet game. England had one good chance in the second half and Lampard was there for the rebound. Rushing in to pick up any loose ball. As trained.
Lucky Spain didn't have the ability to adapt to the oppositions style of play? Maybe.
