They got sentenced to jail, and millions in damages, but fled the country. Even though they lost the case, the site continues to operate. I think it got sold and is no longer hosted in Sweden I believe.

From what I understand they are appealing things and fighting every thing and like nextri said they fled the country and are on the run. It is likely only a matter of time until they are caught and have to face the music.

Honestly, what a stupid thing to go to jail over. They deserve it, but when they are finally caught and are sitting in jail, they will be rethinking their retarded site and if it was all worth it, which of course at that time the answer will be, no.

I was actually shocked to hear that they got jail time at all, but I guess if it is a criminal act you can go to jail for just about anything. I was just reading that one of the guys was able to appeal and got his jail sentence reduced from 1 year down to 4 months, but he had to pay a slightly larger fine.

I wonder if he gets ass raped in prison if that is considered fair use of his ass?

PB has servers in several countries, when they are found guilty (about 8 times now) they simply shut down the one server in that land where the lawsuit applies but the "network" as a whole stays up.

Yeah one of these Swedish thief bastards is suffering from cancer, I saw pics of him on some news site last week, all bald from chemo and skinny. I hope the rest of his cancer process will be very slow and painful and once he's dead and burried I'll visit his grave to shit on it. What's amazing ia a site that's clearly illegal is still online. The problem with existing laws and penalties is they do not go far enough. These guys and other pirates run business supplying other peoples goods they don't own or have the license for. For profit.

Remove the profit element and they come crashing down. Who will run a big expensive site if it costs them money? OK I know the answer to that, still you get the picture.

Remove Domain
DNS
Hit hosting, advertisers and processors.

Then watch the problem shrink over night.
