wtf? why did everyone tell me adult was competitive?

i never entered adult because people told me it was too competitive, so for 2 years i did mainstream...

now im researching keywords all over the net and adult words dont seem competitive at all! compared to mainstream

i own a sites that are number 1 and some 2 and 3 for searches that get 100million finds, 40 million finds

and for keywords like tranny sex or booty videos or blonde sex etc
theres only 3-5 million finds..

maybe that could be the case in adult, but my mainstream sites have been in the same position (3 up or 3 down if anything) in the last 1.5 years

i work fulltime at a big company and run a bunch of mainstream..

a lot of sales for me would be 2 sales a day
(total invested 0$, and 1 hour a day)

Adult isn't as competitive as mainstream in many cases, but that has more to do with the limited earning potential in adult compared to many mainstream searches. With more and more "ad click" programs out there providing adtext style ads for sites, many people are making a good living off of building landing pages and stuffing them full of PPC ads. So there is huge competition on the mainstream side for that type of traffic.

Adult has burned a bunch of that already, and in most cases keyword buys through these systems aren't give the returns that programs need to make it worth doing, so the prices aren't as open ended. It is the reason why adult high traffic / low return sites are all over dating and stuff, because they feel this gets them the most money per click.

Well you build a bunch of sites and link them together on different hosts...then what? where is the traffic going to come from? you think google will just spider it and give you number one spot because you have a phrase repeated a bunch of times on a site and links to your site with that same phrase? unless you have links from high traffic sites (no one is gonna want to trade links with a new site that gets no traffic) you aren't going to get far. you could buy links but often times people selling them are selling them for a reason. Have fun. I am lazy and miss the old days personally. Like setting up doorway after doorway page with a ton of hidden text, get number one spots and watch the sales roll in. damn it was easy. Now, not so much...for me at least.

the numbers of sites that come up when you type certain keyphrase has nothing to do with $$$, I/m number 3 for a phrase that returns 109 000 000 and that makes me 2-3 signups a month, wow, I can retire now

I don't do seo anymore, haven't in years. I just make my sites and if they do well, then great. If not, then oh well. And if you use programs and cloakers, etc then thats not seo either, thats cheating. If chinacarforums is yours i can't see what if anything you do that is special to get ranked number one, unless its just people linking to you because they like the site which you will never find in adult.
