This is why pets as gifts are terrible idea, having a pet is a new life, a form of parental responsibility not just like buying something to sit on shelf. And this is the very reason the shelters are full now!

The dog will be back at shelter in less than two weeks I bet. Dogs are big responsibility and theres nothing worst than people who buy dogs and then lock them in kennels in their apt/house.
