I see lots of you guys struggling with lighting and one thing I notice is the thought that you need 5-8 lights to get something interesting. it's like they say about dicks.... it's not what you're using, it's how you're using it
this is 2 umbrellas, one camera right and one upstage camera left. the only issue with shooting like this is you really have to control the model/models... because there is no 'slack' here, like shooting with 'butterfly' lighting, which is the most common and which I seldom use.
in most cases I use 1 strobe with an umbrella for 80% of my stuff...
