I even recall me saying "yeah this time fuck the clients man, this design is for me, its not for sale and this time I am designing for ME" I know those were MY words, but still it definitely went along the lines of what the contest was about. or so I was assuming.
From that to just turning in your latest client job because you were away, seems a tad bit lame. I truly expected to see more, and honestly was let down by the Mafia Entry.
I would have loved to see what Amp could have done had he "just grabbed a fucking domain and some content" instead it was contracted, and I was disappointed by this.
Honestly, if this was about the clients latest work, I dont think I would have entered because thats not what I thought this was about. It kills everything that a Design Showdown is about.
Anyway... dont take my words as attack or charachter judgement homie, either way Im bout as high as a giraffees ass and dont really care either way but wanted to voice my 3 cents

What people have to remember ... is that the layout and presentaion of a site ... even text wording and placement .. is WAY more important than actually creating the MB logo (which was done by WebInc) ...
The "presentation" of an idea is what design is all about (same as being a chef - how you present you food is equally important to how it tastes)... not who made what logo ... If anybody here judges a design on how cool the logo is ... all I can say is I am glad you were not judging this contest.Comment

I entered this comp for the same reason as Tylo, just to join the designers, I wasn't even going to enter as I was too busy with other stuff but then someone said enter it will be good to show some skills so I wipped something up in 6 hours. If I knew all this was going to happen I would have saved myself 6 fuckin hours.
I have no real opinion on Amps design, whether it was his or whatever, All I know is that the top 5 designs were really good and it was awesoem to see that there were all those paysites in one place made by people from GFY.
Again I look forward to it next year.
