The rumors were true: The new Blacklist Bill could effectively destroy YouTube, Twitter, and other sites that rely on user-generated content by making the sites' owners legally responsible for content their users post.

It also includes provisions that would make it a felony to stream unlicensed content -- including cover band performances, karaoke videos, video game play-throughs, and more.

Time for a few here to hire some lobbyists. No idea what kind of support this has, just saw it.

The only thing on that page is someone screaming "unfair unfair".

Why should it be legal for a cover band to put up youtube videos playing someone
else's music without permission? The original band can allow it if they want it.
Just ask. The cover band spends a week learning each song but they won't spend
5 minutes to make a form letter and mail it out for permission. Why?

It's wild how the same webmasters, who think they can broadcast anybody's music
and video they want for freedom of speech, will shit a brick if they think somebody
copied their website design. Why isn't that freedom of speech?
When's the last time someone filed a copyright for an HTML layout?
