Among other concerns, I think people are more against the re-sale of .xxx versions of their existing keyword term .com domains before they had the opportunity to register the corresponding .xxx domain.

These do not appear to be owned by the same entity. Dot xxx was advertising the fact that existing .com owners would be able to register their .com name in .xxx.
In actuality it appears that the .xxx versions of high end .com domains have been sold off before the .com owners had any chance of acquiring them.
