To think that a bible thumping republican like Mike Huckabee wouldn't be any worse for us than Clinton or Obama is asinine.
Nobody running for office will publicly support pornographers, there are absolutely no votes there, and it's a lose/lose situation for them.
The democrats have not made us a priority however, and one can reasonably assume that very little to zero assets will be used to enforce obscenity laws or to check 2257 records without probable cause.
During the Clinton administration the AG went after real CP and didn't mess with the legit porn businesses.
Tony is right in saying that voting for a republican when you're a pornographer is like voting for the Nazi's if you're a Jew. (with the notable exception of Ron Paul)

Yes and depending upon the administration's priorities certain laws get enforced and certain laws don't.
For instance the current administration has done next to nothing to enforce fair housing laws, something that massive resources were committed to during the Clinton administration.
Housing laws were the same under both administrations but heavily enforced during one and practically ignored during another.
The same can be said about laws related to our business.

I think Dems are the ignorant ones. Bush has had the lowest rating of any president I have ever seen and Dems can't even come up with a person to beat him. And look what they brought on board this year. A woman, and a black Obama. While I personally wouldn't have a problem voting for either one of them on that level, Dems must realize this country isn't quite ready for either. THAT means that the stupidity of the Dems is likely to cost them yet another presidential election. In a time when a LOT of "us Republicans" would be more than willing to vote for a Dem president to prove that we also think Bush has gone to far right. I don't think the Dems WANT to win. In order to win national and statewide elections the right needs to get a "wedge" issue out there to turn out the evangelical vote.
Last time it was gay marriage. "The homos are gonna ruin the sanctity of marriage if you don't get out and vote for this amendment"

1. Why are these laws always put forward by politicians who are 70+ and have 0 understanding of the techonology?
2. The GOP is reliant on the Christian right. Why would someone in the porn industry vote for for the GOP which is connected to religious conservatives who hate porn (publicly of course, in private they are jacking off to gay porn and smoking meth with rent boys - see Ted Haggard). This is just fucking crazy.
3. I am from Australia and I can see that the USA is a great country being destroyed by Cheney/Bush. This is just another utterly retarded piece of legislation that is gonna be introduced under their watch. Invade Iraq != Ending Terror. Stricter Record Keeping in Mainstream Porn != less child abuse. I thought 2257 was gonna solve entire child abuse problem in the USA?!?!?!

The story is such shit: Someone is trying to make it sound like there were no records before. 2257 has been around since 199x, and model releases and proof of ID has been around since. it isn't suddenly like someone is going to run the first ID check on Ron or Jenna.
