Quick question for the anti-piracy activists...

How many mp3s do you have?

Are all of your warez licensed? Fonts?

I know a few people who are clean, including myself. I ditched all of my cracked software and purchased legal versions of them all, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash etc... All licensed, as well as I ditched my mp3 collection, and started buying CDs, and ripping 1 copy for my iPod. All of my fonts are licensed as well.

I have never downloaded a MP3 that I don't own the CD with. I use free fonts, all my software is bought and payed for.

I visit youtube, and sometimes i watch compilations with "family guy" That is as close as I get to break the rules

One thing I must say is that if it weren't for illegal / pirated warez, most of us would still be in the Technology dark ages.

I wonder how much money has been made in the adult industry based on pirated software, fonts, scripts & other various warez. Hmm.

Don't get me wrong... I'm all for abolishing the piracy online, it's getting rediculous... however I also believe that to take a stand, you have to walk the walk.

So would you say it legalise or criminalise content theft?

I have about 5000 MPA3s. However, ALL OF THEM are either ripped from CDs I own or downloaded through Musicmatch where I've purchased them at 99 cents a pop.

No illegal music here at all.

The mp3s I have are all licensed. All of my software is legal too.

I've worked hard to pay for what I have, and I work hard and pay for the content I create...excuse me if I don't like it and react when other's feel justified in stealing what I have worked hard for.

There will always be people downloading stolen content. But we can limit the income generated by that niche and sort our the companies that profit from sites dealing with stolen content

I'm just saying that hopefully all of this stink about content theft / piracy is being driven by people who are walking the walk. Piracy has helped the entire internet grow into what it is today, in many aspects. It has given many people an education where our school systems have failed, by allowing the average Joe to mess around with software that he couldn't possibly afford, and build his skillsets. I'm all for abolishing piracy in some aspects, however, are we the pot calling the kettle black in this?

Actually Fonts don't hold a copywrite. Only the font name does, so you can rename any font and legally use it or give it away. Might not be ethical but it's the way it is.

Fonts are concidered the same as php code or what ever they can't be copywrited.

As I said before, I wonder how much revenue has been generated in this industry with pirated copies of Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Encore, AfterEffects, Premier etc... I would estimate (off the top of my head) the vast majority of monies earned have been supported by pirated warez.

I agree with that to some extend. I would now waste time and money fighting the consumer downloading stolen content. The problem is people like AFF supplying the site with money so they make a profit stealing from other people.

It would mean that the people like me who pay for their software, would have a better chance to stand out in comparison to the freeloaders that didnt spend money starting in the business, but used stolen software instead. It would also mean there would be fewer webmasters properly. And maybe then it could be a more professional community because people had actually invested some hard earned $$$

i've got cracked software I'm guilty of that but all of my music is 100% paid for. Why? Because I like the bands. If the bands aren't getting paid, they don't make more albums. I want more albums. "Nuff said"

Fucking RoadRunner Records probably has 2-3k of my $
