Why is it the cops fault? They didn't make the law. They just enforce it.
Here in my hometown the freeway is two lanes in each direction but it sort of becomes a city street with traffic lights. Driving North there is a turn lane to turn into a shopping plaza at the light, but people like to hit that turn lane, come to a complete stop in the middle of it so they can cross the double yellow line and enter in through the first entrance. My friend got a ticket and bitched the cops. I'm confused - We have law about crossing a double yellow line for a reason. In this case, you can't fucking stop in the middle of turn lane to cross the double yellow line - cars enter that spot at 45mph and don't expect people to be stopped there. The law is there for a reason, and it's enforced for a reason.

I've gotten tickets like that which were timestamped outside of the illegal no parking time periods and had to jump through hoops to not pay.

The cop is just part of the chain, he KNEW what he was doing, he knew it was just a trap - nothing but a thief in uniform.
You could say the same thing about a pedophile, hey he likes selling pictures of children - he's just doing his job. Even a pedophile KNOWS what he is doing is wrong and have more honor than a cop.
Anyone that becomes a cop and devotes his career to being dishonorable, pissing people off, when they could have chosen something that honorable and that actually helps people. Getting my car towed helps no-one, and yes, it's the cops fault for being the final link in the chain.Comment

Well lets see, recently my buddy's brother showed up to his house, used his house key and didn't get the alarm to shut off in time, the alarm company spoke to his brother and confirmed who he was, he stayed there for several hours and no one showed up.
2 weeks later, my buddy got a bill from the police for $145 for police support over the issue when they didn't even show up.Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

Blame your local government, not the cop. The city, or whatever, makes the parking laws, and if the cop doesn't enforce them, they will fire him. His job is enforcement, and he has no power over what laws are written, or what fines are charged. If the cop decided not to do his job, which is enforcement, then the city gets someone else that will.
If you actually want to change things, you need to talk to your city government....
....unless of course you are just blowing off steam, in which case, carry on.....

You saying that the police intentionally set up a trap to generate funds. But the truth is the police didn't make it illegal to park there - the city did. The police don't make the laws, they just enforce it. They saw your car parked there illegally, and gave you a ticket. But you think it's some kind of whacked out conspiracy with the city government and the individual police officer so they can make money.
I thought it was really odd that there would be a law that you couldn't park in a certain place on a certain day for three hours. Then I remembered that I can't park outside of my house on Thursday from 9am - 1pm. Duh - street cleaning. Once a week they send a sweeper truck through my street. I bet you someone bitched that their street isn't being cleaned, and thus the police needed to take action. It does seem excessive that they would tow a car, but my guess is that no one follows the rule so now they just tow.Herschel Savage

i used to get parking ticket after parking ticket when lived in cali, outside my apartment. I never parked illegally or anything. How the fuck you park illegally at your own home? HAHAHA
anyway... in los angeles you gotta pay em first THEN show up to court to argue your case. Often times the parking meter lady would just ride up and ticket all the cars outside my apartment and no one was doing anything wrong, we were parked outside our own living place! LOL dirty shit goes on, id be willing to be more than half of all parking tickets written are actually false claims and its just meter maid making a bonus or something, fa real man...

Wrong.
Cops get a ticket quota from their boss, which comes from the government. Governments base all their actions on one factor: Is there money to be made.
So they go out of their way to write tickets where ever it's possible while forgetting why cops were invented in the first place: to protect and to serve. Ofcourse they do some good things, but the majority is getting cash for the government.
Speed trap poles at 2 in the morning on an empty road.
Police officer sitting on his ass for 5 hours straight, sipping coffe in a civilian car, next to a mobile speed trap to keep an eye on it that nobody is demolishing that electronic pocket picker for the government.
Especially here in NL everyone sees cops this way, and that point of view is not based on hot air.Comment

I have to obey traffic laws. Because I do those things I have zero tickets. I don't even remember the last time I got a parking ticket.

I hear ya, $350 is getting pretty steep for a spot that is normally open to metered parking.
Oh well put on a clown suit, smoke some super stinky, wreak a whole lot and go have a $351 donut.

we have some crazy parking rules here, but now they have a ton of red light camera's and they just started installing speed camera's...if you go 5-10 miles over the limit you'll get a ticket in the mail. I wouldn't mind the red light cameras, but the traps force you to go through a quick yellow light which can get you a ticket. If you pay the ticket you get no points on your license, if you fight the ticket and lose you have to pay the fine and get the points.
