How much money can a blog network make when you start it from scratch? Find out now

Here's a cool side project. I'm starting a new network of blogs that will promote Video Download sites exclusively. Usually I go revshare on these kinds of sites because it makes more money than PPS over the long haul. I will do both revshare and PPS just to compare during this project. I'm having all the posts written exclusively for these blogs.

This is who I'm using to start:

Video Sexperts - New & fresh (that's important) and converts incredibly so far.

Videosz - Old standby. Ratios still good even with no trial.

DVD Tube - Platinum Buck's new site. I haven't tried it yet but looks good

There's a couple that fell off dramatically that I used to use but that I won't be using on this project.

If there's any other DVD Download sites I'm missing post here and I may sign up if they look good. I don't need a bunch but one or two more good ones would be nice

I know a lot of you guys are interested in knowing how well blogs can work. So, I'm going to do this network from scratch and show you.

Starting in October I will give you'z guys a report on how many blogs are rolling... Who's converting the best and how the traffic is increasing.

Blog traffic is slow at first but the monthly updates should be pretty interesting. Anyway it goes this will be fun to watch and it should answer a lot of folk's questions about blog traffic.

I am going to have roughly about 50 blogs in this network, broken down by niches. Nothing too hard for anyone to do on their own yunno. Post frequency will be between daily to twice a week for the smaller niches.

Thanks to the folks at Profit X for some of the designs. I'm going to be linking their hosted blogs from VideoSexperts when they come out also. I saw a preview and they look amazing.

I've never linked a hosted blog before but I imagine it should do quite well. I'm going to make sure there's a tracker placed on that and report the results. I'm just like anyone else when it comes to stuff like that. Some sponsor tools you see and you wonder, "Does that work?"

haha, well, he isn't doing all that much except giving me some ABP pointers here and there

shit, might be a cool contest for the boards though in the future, get everyone to register domains on a certain date and only use those domains for the contest, and get sponsors to verify everything...see who does the best at the end....hmmmm...just brainstorming now, but damn, would be kind of fun

I started on 7/28/07 with this network, only using ABP, wordpress and BlogPinger 2.0...I also have my rss feeds in porndiggity.com and bookmarkyourporn.com, they both update when I update the rss fed blogs

my stats so far since 7/28/07

this is using everything I have learned in the past 2 years about blogging and rss and starting from scratch, aside from a few links here and there

I think i am off to a pretty damn good start

btw, if you need a great script that will show stats across all your domains in one control panel, let me know....it is really nice for viewing total traffic levels and shit

That's looking pretty good Jace. How does that breakdown in hits to sponsors? I dunno if you have the hits separated from your other traffic but if you do it would be cool to know.

Ok, so far this is the starting 6 sponsors for this. Since I will be reporting stats I'm not sure if I can handle more sponsors than this and still give them a fair shot. Plus, remember, all the posts for these will be hand written so it would be a pain in the ass to manage more sponsors.

Profit X - New and doing incredibly well for me already

Videosz Been using them for years, always good.

Pimproll - Has the site Download Pass that I have had success with in the past.

And here's three sponsors with DVD sites I haven't used before:

Weg Cash - They have the AllAxxxess site that looks different and Ruth says I have to include

Platinum Bucks - They have the new site Pornotube. I never used it but it looks good

Movie Profits Looks good, never tried... but the sites are sexy

Just like all webmasters I look at sites that I have never used before and wonder how do they compare on the same traffic.. all things being equal and such. I'm no different so here's the chance to do a REAL controlled test over time.

Now that I think about it... why not keep it to one DVD Site sponsor since we can do unlimited niches with one good site that has thousands of DVDs. Because they are DVD sites with a ton of genres you can target a ton of keywords which as all of you know is the key determining factor of how many options you have for gathering traffic.

I say we should go with Profit X's site since it's new, has no surfer over saturation, offers PPS which makes for easier record keeping and it's run by Stan from Envision Next who most of us know already so we can get real traffic confirmation. That way we all start on an equal footing with very little current SE competition on the site also.

Movie Room is also a good looking new site with very little saturation. But revshare may not be right for this competiton and I can't confirm the conversion ratios personally as I can with Profit X's. I will be using them in the future no matter what though.

What do you fellas say to 1 domain, 1 IP, 1 sponsor, 1 host. Real equal footing.

I'm sure I can talk Webair Mike into offering hosting with 1 clean IP specifically for each contestant. That way we have stats verifiable by a 3rd party we trust.

I was thinking about getting 10-20 sponsors involved, offer a couple thousand dollars for first prize, unlimited blogs/domains but all have to have registration date of the contest start date

the sponsors involved would be willing to post stats publicly of the top 5, etc

I am thinking LARGE scale contest

I'm undecided on the sponsors issue but unlimited domains is out.

That gives people with more money for domains/ip's and blog aids like autoblogger too much of a leg up. Of course subdomains are fair game though.

It would be better to make sure this is done by hand and not an automated contest.

I can use two tools and wipe out 95% of the people that may participate. That's not cool for a contest.

Gotta keep this open to everybody, not just the privileged few yunno.
