Are TGP's killing small paysites

Everyone says there to much free porn on the net but how do you control it I think there's to much hardcore stuff.
Maybe if you needed a avs to get onto the TGP's at least. I think that would be great at least you now the guys got credit card, traffic would be lower but better, bandwidth would be cheaper but how would you do it?

this debate is getting old.

no, TGPs arent killing small paysites. Gallery posters are killing it. Open a TGP - fill it with your hosted galleries / primarily promoting your own sites. POOF a valuable marketing tool that attracts traffic and makes sales to your small paysite - the same TGP you bitched about is now making you money. Just don't be a dumbass when selecting content.

Agreed. All US Gov't intervention will do is prompt anyone who's banking big off free porn to move offshore.

It would kill alot of smaller US operators for sure, but the slack would be picked up by guys in other countries before you can say "obscenity prosecution"

Most of the big TGPs are NOT owned by webmasters in the United States. Most are hosted here though. Foreign hosting companies would get a big boost. That's about it.

Anyone else start with AVS around 1997? I did and I could sell 100 memberships a week for sites that had only 20 - 30 pics on them.

My first 1099 from Adult Check still beats any single sponsor since.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

There's no doubt the TGP is a stupid business plan. The dozen or so people who have made it big in TGPs will disagree, but it's obvious. However, if you're not making money with your paysite, that's your fault, don't blame TGPs. There is still money to be made in this business without that kind of traffic, if you can't do it, well, get a job.

Won't ever happen.

No one will EVER stop giving away free porn.

Why?

Let's say everyone in the entier world stopped giving away free porn on the net.

Eventually there will be one guy who will say..."hmmm...imagine how much traffic I could get if I started to give away free previews to the paysites." And thus the whole free porn is saturating the market argument would start up again because everyone would start giving it away again just to compete for the clicks.

Pandora's box is open and can't ever be shut. it's out it's there. Nothing short of legislation will curb it, and even then someone in another country will just start giving it away and there goes your traffic there.

The same applies to the hosted gallery concept. Yes they're nice, they're bandwidth savers, but eventually the surfer is going to get tired of going to tgps and seeing the same old hosted galleries over and over.

So the ones with the creative daily submitted galleries will start to pull in the traffic.
