Who here has the oldest computer and still making money with it

and is still making money from their websites? I have a Solar PC clone which was made on August 7. 1997, making its five year anniversary coming up in a couple of months. It has 166 megahertz with about 54 k of ram. Still using Windows 95, BTW.

when I started in this biz I had a P100 with 16mb of ram and a 2gb HD. when i replaced it I'd have been lucky to get $150 for it.

I've always wondered how tight.... nevermind.

I've still got a bunch of old pentiums and 486's that I use as development and test servers.. So I'm making money from them, but they're just slaves to my real machine...

Am I meant to be impressed by how old your computer is.

If you make so much money go buy a new one, being cheap isn't a good quality.

it was a p120 for my headless freebsd gateway/firewall but I found a 200mhz cpu at a swap meet. I don't remember exactly when I got it; quite awhile ago. It cost over $1k when I got it... hehe, it's been a good little computer but it was happy to retire to being a gateway.

                                cheers

                                  A few years ago, I had a P90 with 64Mb.

I only mention it because it was just a tad slower than any computer mentioned so far. (it's gone, so I can't claim it as the oldest).

Actually, my experience with desktops goes back to CP/M computers. I bet only a few of you guys remember having one of those!

I had a computer that ran CP/M back in 1984. CP/M was a lot like DOS. The only thing I used that computer for was playing this Star Trek game on it. A rather expensive and useless toy that was.
