Please keep everyone posted, Evan. A solution only for your company is simply a band-aid approach to the problem. The industry needs a comprehensive solution.
And let's be frank, if AFF can keep it's affiliates free of the Paris video, they have the means and mechanisms to keep them free of everyone else's pirated/stolen content as well.
If they can't do this, then they should not be advertising with thieves, or allow such individuals/sites to be affiliates in the first place - it's called due diligence and being a good corporate citizen...
BTW, I spent the better part of my mainstream career with companies that had thousands, and even tens of thousands of clients. We stayed in touch with each of them and visited all of their web sites on a regular basis to follow up on our marketing, co-op advertising, etc.
It's not hard to do once you make the commitment and develop a systematic plan.

the only point I would make here is that a lot of the ads you may be seeing on torrent sites are run of network ads. I buy run of network ads when I bid on yahoo ppc or google ppc.. I don't know what sites they will run on and I have no way of knowing what sites they will run on.
Some of the deals I bet they know exactly what is up, but some of them my guess is they just threw 100k at an ad network and said "run ads for us" in the same way that all corps do.
It's unlikely aff is totally oblivious but a few of the square graphic ad's i've seen sure look like RON ads to me.$50 FREE TRIALS! Every Day til 2008!!!

Even when you throw money at ads, you follow up to see what produces the best ROI. If you see that the sites are posting illegal/stolen content, unless you want to be associated with it, you shut it down and fast.
AFF knows that they are being watched more closely than they were in the past, not just by the adult biz, but quite possibly by the government and other industry associations, as well.
Some in the adult biz might even adopt tactics like AFF.
If they, and the pirate sites they sponsor don't care where there traffic/money comes from, then why should we care if the RIAA or the mainstream Motion Picture industry sues them for Contributory Infringement once we point them in the right direction. It doesn't matter how the pirate sites are shut down, their nonsense has to be stopped.
Lars has been sued before by the music industry - he can probably already see what is coming next...

You must of never worked for a big company, analyzing the numbers is a big part of how the day is spent. I find it hard to believe no one knows where anything comes from I smell Bullshit in my opinion. I worked for a publicly traded company, we had meetings with the ceo once a week and all we spoke about is the numbers and where the traffic was coming from.Now it was only a small 30 million dollar company but I could tell if an affiliate farted. How FF a 100 million dollar company has no idea where anything is coming from is very hard to believe. Actually I make it a point not to give too much away - that has been my policy from day 1 on this board - Lots of people have paid me money here.
The sig is there because they make me more money for the effort it requires than any other. I haven't even pushed AFF a great deal for a while - I like a little variety - but the rebills keep rolling in.
Isn't it slightly moronic to think that I wouldn't have a sig for a company that I respect..... sorry I forget this is GFY and generally you have to fly the banner of the prog that paid you the most to do so. Even if you think they are shit.
I have no deal with AFF to use their sig - I use it because I think they are one of the best progs around.Comment

I didn't post a link, only the site name, as I did not want to send anyone unexpectedly to such a site. Anyone that wants to check it out can see that I am not making anything up.
The AFF ad is still there (I made a screen shot), as are the purported CP links (I didn't click the links - and I certainly wouldn't sign up for such a site to see them anyway).
Even if it is fake CP, just like there are many fake AFF profiles, I think it is sufficient enough justification to not want to be affiliated with a site that doesn't ban/monitor for such words (even GFY takes such precautions - BTW, the same site I cited boasts lots of Playboy content as well).
