I would love to see Detroit beat out the Yankees and make it to the ALCS but I just don't see it happening, especially after their meltdown tonight. Their pitching just isn't deep enough and you can expect the Yankees to capitalize on any flaw in their bullpen as they did tonight. The Tigers got lucky on monday in that the Yankees threw CC Sabathia on short rest after the rainout, and I think that's why he had an off night. Otherwise I think that this would've been the last game of the series for Detroit. You're right about Burnett though, he's had a terrible season and he actually got saved by the Yank's defense tonight on a couple occasions, especially when Granderson caught that line drive in the first with the bases loaded. Now it's back to the Bronx for game five against Ivan Nova, Detroit is done. I stand by my prediction that it will be the Yankees vs. Rangers in the ALCS.

I will be periodically updating my World Series thread throughout the postseason up until the Phillies win the World Series.

I'll put $25k on Detroit beating the Yankees in the ALDS and advancing to the ALCS. I'll even be willing to bet you that they'll fall in an 0-2 hole in the ALCS upon reaching it.

i would have bet on the yankees and the phillies too, but nothing but scrapper teams left it seems.. which I am extremely happy about. The more often this happens the less likely large market teams will spend out insane amounts of money for middle of the row players and screw up the market for everyone...

Detroit has a good team this year and I think the Yankees finally met their match in the AL.

Phillies on the other hand, there is just on fucking excuse...
