Nothing fucking works. I'll pick them off the wall with a piece of toilet paper, throw them in the toilet so they're under the TP, piss on it to dunk them deeper, and those motherfuckers will crawl on the underside (underwater) of the toilet paper, up around to the top above water and then try to get out of the toilet. I've never seen such a resilient fucking bug. I can't stand the damn things, and I have no solutions to get rid of them or prevent them.
