Lol maybe if you look at their history... but it's not really the same company now that it was back in the day...

I'd say that honor goes to Patek

Well I don't want to argue here Philippe Patek is very very reputable company but its really not the same - its the first league for sure so its Piquet , so its vacheron constantin but Brequet is true king of watch production for its innovations - true pioneer (calendar , saphir glass covers etc etc )
Rolex produce about 1500 watches daily - brequet produce 3000 per year

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
          think about that

Everyone I have ever asked about their rolex says they keep shitty time. I see watches in this thread I would much rather have

I saw a big clock in Prague that I was told they killed the guy who built it after he got it running so he couldn't make another? Wild looking clock. Just always loved time pieces, I use to wear thte first Eco Drive that Citizen put out. It was a titanium watch where the face plate was a solar panel, no worries aboput the battery. But after 7 years, it died and they wanted $300 to fix it

I got hooked on mechanical watches around a year ago... it's addictive if you like the complexity of making something so small do so many things without an actual battery...

My most favorite watches in my collection:

                                  1) I am a Jaeger Le Coultre fan, have 3 right now:
                                  a) Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire (limited edition)

Special thing here is two seperate barrels powering the escapement and the movement itself, meaning the escapement does not get affected by movements power drain and runs smoother

                                  b) Master Compressor Extreme World Cronograph

Liked the look of the watch, and it has a neat (albeit simple) world time feature around the bezel.

                                  c) Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Perpetual

A perpetual calendar (which means it displays the correct date and day of week and leap year, without having to reset the watch since it knows which months have how many days) with a flying tourbillon.

                                  2) I do not like the gold in rolex watches, so I have a very simple rolex. The simplest that exist, a Rolex Explorer

                                  3) Patek Philippe, as mentioned before, is one of the most prestigious and oldest companies in mechanical watches. They pioneered things like the perpetual calendars, and the minute repeater. Who better to get a perpetual calendar from?

This is one of the very few perpetual's they sell that actually does not come with a flying tourbillon and a minute repeater built in too.

                                  4) Newest piece in my collection, is a Panerai Luminor 1950 Titanium Tourbillon GMT.

Very simple looking from the front. Dual timezone. Manual, not automatic. But with a nice twist, on the back, the escapement rotates horizontally around its axis, instead of rotating the axis itself as in normal flying tourbillons.

6 days power reserve, via Panerai's standard 3-barrel-system.

This is it for now.. still many watches I am trying to get, but need to do so slowly and most are hard to find.

                                          Watches

Used to work at the world's largest hologram store. Everybody who came in, we showed them a hologram watch. (full on you see the hologram, tilt it slightly, see the time). Sold about a 1:10 ratio. Watches were $10 to $150. Watch commissions alone covered all my bills.

GF owns 3 houses outright and a 4th has payments on it and is helping me pay off mine, she's buying me a watch!

I agree. I buy a watch to tell time - not to extend my dick size. I like the little hand pointing at the hour, the big hand aimed at the minute. I don't even need a second hand.

Actually, I don't even wear a watch anymore. I can walk down the street and look in any storefront and get the time - or just look at my phone.

The time is free - watches are unnecessary.
