Let me guess.. you guys have been chatting for a bit. You've gotten to "know" her so to peak and she's all but admitted to being in love with you. She says all the right things to make you feel more than a man, and she really wants to come visit you in person. She likely hints, jokes about and is even possibly very direct about what she will do sexually when you 2 meet...

It's a very typical scam that a lot of seriously gullable people fall for. And you wouldn't be surprised at how many seriously gullable people there are out there...

After 4 years traveling around the world and having been to 76 countries, I found Philippines to have the worst accommodation in the world for the highest prices in the world. You can get a meal that will feed you for $1 worth, travel upwards of 100km for $2, but you'll shell out 1500 Pesos (almost $40) for the biggest piece of shit dust mites and cockroaches infested, mouldy walled, dark and smelly room with plugged up shower drain. Nowhere in the world is accommodation this shitty and this expensive at the same time. If you compare what $40 buys you in western Europe - in Barcelona or Berlin for example - you won't believe where those FIlipinos take the nerve to charge so much for world's hands down shittiest rooms.

Hours after I left Tarlac, someone threw a grenade into a bar next to my hotel killing 6 and wounding 11. In Bangued, someone got murdered in a park downtown while I was visiting there and while a funeral was taking place for 2 16 year old kids that were murdered a few days prior (a girl and a boy, both born in 1995 - got pics of it).

It's also a country with hands fucking down slowest cashiers in the world. There are always lines up to pay for merchandise because it takes hours to process a line of 3 customers. It's utterly ridiculous. I filmed countless videos of it and still can't believe when I watch it. And let's not forget out of the whack population density (them twinks breed like rabbits). Hoards upon hoards of them pieces of shit always hurling at you from every side and the end of the hoard is never in sight. No wonder their homicide rates are off the hook. Never being able to take more than one and a half steps without 5 thousand people getting in the way got on my nerves too. The fact that no matter where you are it stinks like shit cause every male pisses on the street is just a side note.

Then why in the world you were there? Those places you mentioned are far north of the Ph. What the "f" are you doing in Bangued, Abra? My wild guess is that you visited a lady friend there? lol.

Which part of "I travel around the world" did you not understand? I visit one country after another and spend substantial time in each which also takes me to off the beaten track areas. I don't just quickly scan through popular tourist traps taking pre packaged tours. I go to every corner of every country by using local transportation and interact with locals by eating in local eateries, buying fruit from market places and hanging out in places where locals hang out. This way I get to know what the country and its people are really like. My experience goes beyond interaction with hotel staff and sellers of souvenirs. Though I'm not entirely sure why I'm wasting time trying to explain this to someone who got to 5 trying to add 2 and 2.

Well I smell something rotten in Denmark. All that "substantial" time immersing yourself into the culture in a way as detailed as you describe, yet you missed the 2 biggest hotel chains that happen to be all over the country. Both offer decent, secure, clean, bug free, mold free rooms... for about 1,100 a night for one of their "I am NOT a baller" budget-rooms. So which is it? Blind? Or no one liked you enough to give you decent advice regarding SOGO and Victoria Court?

Prices vary and I average them out to be about 1,100 pesos per night in either of those chains for one of their (cough) budget (cough) rooms. And 1,100 would be the chump price at that considering people in the know all know that both chains offer discount cards...

Then again, I don't backpack like some college freshman with no money out recording a "countless" (as you say) number of videos of slow moving lines while shopping. Dude, you're a wild man. I want to party with you!

And where on earth were you shopping? If you are going to specifically look for the scrubbiest places to shop, then that is what you are going to find. Personally I do like the palengkes though. Palengkes can be off the hook for meeting some nice sweet very attractive non-professional girls!

What I do know is that for about 3,200-5,200 a night you could have had an incredible room with 2 plasma TV's, refrigerators, dining areas, couches, private outdoor patios and tubs big enough to fit a female basketball team which is actually what I make my videos of in case you were wondering...

This room was 3,500 per night. You were complaining about the plumbing... the drain on this tub was fine. Water was nice and hot, and the waterfall worked flawless. And yup... big enough for at least 8 more girls! The first picture is to give you an idea how big the tub is in that room

It's a kidnapping capital of the world - more people get kidnapped there than in any other country in the world and that also includes countries with active war zones. It's also the most dangerous country for journalists in the world - more journalists get killed there than in any other country in the world, including countries with active war zones. It smells like piss everywhere you go and filth floats in every body of water. BTW - SoGo? Any $3 accommodation in Laos gives you superior cleanliness and quality. I stayed in a few different SoGo hotels, each costing upwards of $30 and each was the biggest dumphole I've ever had a displeasure of staying in. And don't even get me on notorious Filipino unfriendliness. You get no customer service in the Philippines. One time I got this towel that was covered with someone's hair. Fucking disgusting. I asked if I could get new towel and was told that they only replaced towels once a day so I wouldn’t get a new one until tomorrow but if I paid, I could get a fresh one today. Only in the Philippines. I used my t-shirt to dry off that day. SoGo... LOL! After staying in $30+ SoGo dumpholes, I couldn’t believe I got far less than in some of the most remote regions of SE Asia where only very basic accommodation for very little money is available. Anyone who stayed in a $30 room in Western Europe and then tried a $30 room in the Philippines would see their wallet grow hands and beat them up for wasting so much money for such massive pile of stinking shit. And that's just room quality and cleanliness. Difference between your appreciation as a customer is a whole new matter.

The only thing I agree with is the cashier part. That is indeed true and very frustrating. But I don't do any shopping, so I don't experience that a lot.

But other than that, I don't agree with most of what you say.
Manila has some great areas with very good living, great malls, 5 star hotels, amazing nightlife and awesome restaurants. In all these places you just pay just a fraction of what you'd pay for the same life style, services and quality in Europe and the US.

If you want quality life you have to pay for it of course, but it's nothing compared to what you would pay for the same lifestyle in the US or Europe.

For $1000 - $1500 a month you can get an amazing 3 bedroom condo in a brand new high quality building in the best and most modern area of the capital, which includes full time staff that opens the door for you when you arrive, takes care of anything you need, then you have a full time maid that cooks, cleans, shops and takes care of everything you need. You have a gym a nice pool and everything is clean. I see a cockroach maybe twice a year.
Great restaurants are around the corner, including 5 star restaurants with international chefs. You can get any cuisine you want and the best food you can get for a fraction of the price what it would cost in the US or EU.

Of course this is expensive for 99% of the local people, who could never afford any of this, because they make $300 a month. But if you have an income that is decent in the US/EU you can live an amazing lifestyle that far exceeds what you would get in the US and Europe.

I can go to the best gourmet restaurants in the city, and have amazing meals prepared by international chefs for less than $40 per person (including wine). In restaurants like that in Europe and the US you'd be paying well over $100 - $150 per person (if not more). In all the quality places you pay less than half of what you would pay for the same service, food and quality in the EU/US.

I can go to Resorts World Manila and party in the best club in the country, which is comparable to the best clubs in Vegas in terms of quality, service, style, djs, sound and light system, atmosphere, etc. and get the best table in the club, hang out with the hottest models in the country and pay less than $500 (including plenty of bottles of gray goose and dom). A night out like that in Vegas woud cost at least 10x as much.

And if you're done clubbing you hop on the plane and take a 1 hour flight to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, where you can relax in amazing 5 star resorts. Or you take all the girls and take a 2 hour drive to a nice huge pool villa outside the city and continue the party for the rest of the weekend.

In this country you can live the lifestyle that most people can only dream of or see on TV.

Why on earth would you stay in a SoGo hotel? These hotels are made for and cater to people that want to bang cheap hookers. It's not a hotel where normal western's would go to. It's usually used by Filipino people that have a wife at home and want to fuck a hooker, they take them to SoGo hotels to have a quick fuck. It's not really made for overnight or long term stays. It's to stay for an hour or two to bang a hooker.
