Online Gambling: ePassPorte Security Flaws Have Customers Worried

Following NETeller and MyCitadel puling out of the US online gambling market, nearly every third party payment processor did the same this past month. When all the dust cleared, it seemed as if only one remained: ePassporte.

A concern Gambling911 reader relayed his story to us:

"I recently had over USD$2000 withdrawn from my ePassporte account which I did not authorize.

"Four unauthorized transactions occurred in Bangkok, yet I am in Toronto and I have never lost my ePassporte card, which is also secured with a PIN.

"I have called ePassporte several times, and I get ****** around with my calls being transferred back and forth to their Customer Service departments in Toronto and Los Angeles. Yeah, Los Angeles.

"If I knew these guys operated in the United States I would have never opened an account with them!

"I was told by ePassporte that it would take up to 4 months to investigate, and now my e-mails and phone calls go unanswered, with the following message hosted on their site:

'Due to unusually high call and email volumes, you may experience extended hold times when calling us or there may be a delay receiving a response to your email inquiry. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are exerting all efforts so that we may attend to your phone calls and emails as soon as possible. Your calls and emails will be answered in the order they are received. We appreciate your patience and cooperation. Thank you for choosing ePassporte." '

"Any iGaming comanies that continue to accept U.S business should be held accountable for the electronic processors they do business with. I truly believe that the U.S ban on iGaming is protectionist policy and completely wrong, but nonsense like this only justifies it!"
              Doesn't look good

I have already warned everyone about epass 2 moiths ago. I quit using them as a payout option becuase i will not risk my money or my affiliuatsmoney with someone as shady as them that only care about themselves and being greedy.

                          fuck epass.

I am sure that the FBI and others watch this board (as they should) and maybe they will have the balls to do something.

So while it may be true that epass is used by online gambling, is it clear that they allow US customers to gamble online? If so, it's definately only a matter of time before they start getting thrown in jail etc.

                                http://www.gambling911.com/Neteller-...cy-062907.html

                                I love this part...
Both men are Canadian citizens. Their company was based in the Isle of Man and traded on the London Stock Exchange. Some experts had initially believed that the company's offshore status might put it beyond the reach of U.S. law.

                                Oh and this is good.

Stephen Lawrence, whose company, Neteller PLC, was once one of the primary ways U.S. citizens placed bets with offshore bookies, acknowledged in a federal courtroom in Manhattan that the operation was illegal.

"I came to understand that providing payment services to online gambling Web sites serving customers in the United States was wrong," he told the judge.

Wait a minute . . . . I thought when I hinted that epass was dealing with gambling sites the response was that I did not know what I was talking about.

                                      How can that be?

                                          ePassporte Horror Story
                                          Hello,

I started to use ePassporte.com few months ago. I loaded about $300 from my credit card and spent some on the internet.

Everything was working very nice and I was pretty happy with it!

Last month I started using ePassporte.com for bussines purposes. I had a bussines partner and also very close friend in US.

I asked him to signup with ePassporte and he wasnt very happy but agreed. He was sending me between $2,000 and $4,000 per
month. I received about money on my account. I withdrawed some money but some of them I was keeping on ePassporte account in case I need to pay for something.

On December 9th my account was suspended for unusual activity. I called them and had some communcation problems. They were replying to my emails without reading them. It took me a week of many mails and few calls a day to get an first reply from their account verification departament.
The only departament replying to me was Customer Support which could not help me.

The first email from account verification stated that my account was sharing information with a fraudulent account (it was a account termination notice). This was obviously a mistake since I received money from only one ePassporte user and didnt sent to any other users. I didnt received any other email untill now from them.

On some forums one of the employees stated that I am a scammer and part of a group of scammers.

If my friend was a fraudulent user why his account was still active? I then contacted my friend and he asked ePassporte to refund him with the money he sent me. If I was a scammer, ePassporte should refund the guy who sent the money since it was a fraudulent transaction. But no, they dont want to do this. They keep the money for them! This is a SCAM and ePassporte are the scammers in here!!

Searching thru the internet (spent few nights) I found many users having same problem. Most of them had the account terminated, and most of them had big money on their accounts. So I belive ePassporte's policy its to steal big money. I also had $x,xxx on my account.
If it was for few hundred bucks I would probably accept the lose but now I plan to let as much people as possible to know
                                          about this!

I have also contacted by ICQ the employee who said I am a scammer and he said he isnt allowed to comment on my problem anymore.. Fair enough as he had offenced me and I might sue them!

Any advice its very usefull.. I really want my money back.. I bet anyone in my place would want.

Whos does regulate ePassporte? UK FSA?

I plan to build an website like paypalsucks.com about epassporte so I am collecting Horror Stories. If you have such horror stories and you still have the emails from them (to make sure its a real horror story and you didnt make it up) please contact me at danyvip{a.t}gmail.

                                          Any feedback its appreciated!

ePassporte employees: Please review my problem and you will find out you were totally wrong!

Anyone please feel free to contact me!

                                            Another interesting comment made:

I have never used epasseporte but my advice is regarding the requests that may have been received to forward photocopies of ID and credit card front and back.

The only advice I can give is DO NOT DO THIS. You will be giving these people everything they need to steal your identity and fraudulently use your credit card. The phtopcopy of the back of the card will give them the ccv number which is the 3 digit number printed on the back of your card which is used to verify the credit card is actually in your posession.

I am not saying epasseporte will do this, but records can be stolen ... ASK THE ADVICE OF YOUR OWN BANK OR CREDIT CARD COMPANY FIRST.

but michael O will say you are full of shit, and everyone knows he is always right.

NETeller pulled out when the two co-founders were arrested in the US on a connecting flight. Citadel pulled out the same day NETeller announced they would no longer process gaming funds in fears of it happening to them. Both Neteller and Citadel had offices in Western Canada.
