    Apparently because I want to barter my sig for a product it means I can't afford it..

    why is it when I want to barter my sig space for a product I get people trying to insult me by implying that I am broke and can't afford various shit?

    i don't get it

    sure, I can afford some of the shit I barter for my sig, but sometimes it isn't stuff that I would buy on my own, but if it was in trade or sent to me as a gift I would feel more comfortable about it...I know, it is weird, but I never said I wasn't

              Bartering rocks, but I'd only do it with goods that I could procure at a cost of less than the public offering price.... and I imagine that applies to most people.

              Otherwise, it doesn't make much sense, imho.... I'd much rather just pay the amount in cash, and leave the hassle to procuring whatever item to the other party.

I look on it as an honor that someone values my name and reputation enough that they would want to put their company in my sig, and I make a very nice chunk of side money from it. Very nice.

                                                                                                  I have no compunction whatsoever about it. Even if you can eak out a measly 3 or 4 hundred bucks a month from it you're ahead of anything you'd get on any other type of boards out there.

                                                                                                  Are there any non adult-webmaster boards out there in mainstream where people can sell their sigs? I have yet to see any. This is it folks, those who can work a deal to earn income from their sigs do. Those who can't... call those who can "sigwhores".

                                                                                                          I run a mainstream forum that I sell ad space on for local business. Whenever I have work done on my house or anything I ALWAYS offer an ad deal to the company in exchange for a discount. Not because I'm cheap or broke, but because it's good business practice. If they like what they get for their discount they might later decide to continue purchasing ad space, or some who have no website for their business might decide to hire my company for that, etc etc.

                                                                                                          Bartering for ad space goes on all the time. You were just unlucky Jace. Unlucky enough to be talking to a short-sighted person with a piss-poor attitude and no head for business.

                                                                                                          Move on and keep doing what you're doing. You know you'll eventually find someone who doesn't have their head up their ass.

                                                                                                                                                              On the one hand from the logical point of view Jace doesn't make sense, because he can just sell the sig for whatever amount and then pay for the things he wants.. or just keep the money.

But if someone bought me it, it would be cool.
