    Shanes World Tour Traffic Leak

I sent an e mail, never got a response.

    http://www.shanesworld.com/tour1/ind...=100983&t=0&c=

Do affiliates get paid for the STORE link at the top? Isn?t that stealing traffic from your affiliates?

what? no email. not to me.

why would you try to cause drama instead of icq me? you have my icq and you know how to find me easily.

its well documented here on gfy that i have told the affiliates not to promote the current tour if they have a problem with the way its set up. it has been disclosed several times that the tour the way it is is not perfect.

why do you think i have not been promoting to sign up not even one post to shanes world?

everyone knows that i am building an entire new network to send ALL affliate traffic too.

wow, i'm shocked, i thought that we had a better rapport than that FHM.

if someone wants to post any of the original posts that i have made asking people to not promote the existing network, that would be great.

again, i have said it 20 times, DO NOT PROMOTE the current tour!

anyone wanting to talk further, icq me or email airek at shanesworld.

        thanks.

I don't know. Playboy can probably answer this too...

Twistys sells DVDs on the bottom of the tour... no ref code passed.

Girls Gone Wild is selling their products on their tour! WTF?!?! How dare they!
              http://www.girlsgonewild.com/

This is very common for a tour to have a store up, especially actual Studios that produce the content they build their sites around. Not all studios do this, but some do, and they have every right to. I don't know what the fuss is about. You see it daily. When you join an affiliate program to push the site, you earn PPS/RevShare based on the JOINS you send to the site, not their products, unless they offer this, which they will let you know when joining their program if they do or not. If you want a cut of their products, you should open an adult store in your local area, and order from them to distribute them, or if it bothers you that much, only promote sites that don't have stores.

But IMHO, insinuating "theft" of traffic based on something that has been around much longer than you, and a product that predates your web-existence, your sites and your traffic (ie, stores on tours, and the Shane's World Empire), is simply incomprehensible, unfounded and borderline inflammatory.

              Cheerio. Have a good day!

I don't have you on ICQ. I have chatted with you before, but I delete you after I speak to you. I keep a clean list of people I do business with and or have traffic.

I don't cause drama, but if I was running the show there, the tours and traffic leaks would have been the first thing I would have fixed. It takes all of 5 mins to fix a problem like that.

I honestly don't read your threads man, so I wouldn't know you said "Hey, I've been here for a year now, but don't signup and send traffic yet.?

Sorry if you took offense but I hate traffic leaks and did send an e mail first.

If any tour has any type of traffic leak it's called STEALING in my book. Trust me I'm not alone on this. Many threads have been made about it. I don't care how you slice/dice your words and or show examples. You can easily create a script from which if it comes from the affiliates your traffic leaks are DEAD.

An example of a company doing this is Brain Cash.

Let me ask you this... Do you require a recipricol link to get reviews posted on your SmutInspector site?

i would go so far as to call it stealing, if that was the case then there are millions of mainstream programs that would be going to jail on a daily basis...hell, I don't know any mainstream sites I send traffic to that don't have outside links on their sites

bottom line, if you don't like it, don't send traffic

it never bothered me much though personally

For the ones you ask to recip from, isn't SmutInspector a giant traffic leak? I mean, if they send you traffic, do you guarantee at minimum a 1:1 return?

But do you agree, that recips to your site are a traffic leak? If someone puts up a recip to your review site, do they get 1:1 back? If not, then you are a traffic leak on their sites, and I don't really see why you are calling a kettle black. If you promote YOUR site being THE leak on said sites, what does it matter if others have leaks to other sites. Or are you just upset that it's not leaking to you? I just don't understand the double standard here.

A recip asked on the resource page from the affilate program isn't a traffic leak.

I don't have people promoting smut inspector. Thus, I can't have traffic leaks.

The Twistys url you listed is a type in url. All affiliate traffic goes to http://tour.twistys.com and there is no link to any store there.

I don't have people promoting smut inspector. Thus, I can't have traffic leaks.
It is a traffic leak. It's a leak from the affiliate program to your site. If you don't see that, you need glasses. All I'm trying to get at here, is that what you are complaining about has been around for ages. I don't know why you're singling out Shane's World... Maybe it's some sort of personal vendetta, but whatever the case may be, it's a fact of life in this biz, that mainly studios have stores on their tours, especially some of the larger studios. If you don't like it, don't promote them. But singling out a company for their store is rediculous. Calling it theft is rediculous. YOU sent the traffic, YOU, of your own free will, put up those links and sent that traffic. If you didn't want them to have it, then why did you send it? Did you look at the site before you sent the traffic to it? If not, it's YOUR fault you sent to a leaky tour. You could have sent it somewhere else if you had done the research of clicking on your own link to make sure there's no store there! BTW, how many stolen hits do they now have of yours?

This discussion has been going on forever and it will go on forever. I won't say what is right or wrong for anyone else however I will say that before we promote a program we check out the goods, if we feel strongly about the conversions we will get regardless if they are selling dildo's, dime bags or dvd's we send traffic. Ive never been one to sweat the small shit as long as the ROI was great enough.

Ive been around long enough to see programs do all kinds of shady shit, and by shady I mean blatant bullshit things on purpose. However I also have been around long enough to respect that a specific company has the right to sell additional merchandise in order to generate revenue, regardless if it's in the members area or a link on a tour page. I don't call that shady or stealing, I call it them doing business the way they want to do business and if I want to generate money with them I do.

I am talking about tours from which affiliates expect to get paid. The point you are trying to prove about a traffic leak off of a resource page is comical and without merit.

It doesn't matter if it's been around for ages, it doesn?t make it right. A lot of program owners know how much affiliates hate traffic leaks and they stay away from them on their tour pages.

I have no personal vendetta against the program at all. I can even find a thread on GFY from which I said I liked the members area and was surprised. I just looked the other day and found it on the tour page and thought it was BS.

Does anyone knows of a pay site tour that has links to a store where affiliates do gets credit for sales? I think Lightspeed may. PornStarDollars posted about 7 months ago that they were in the process of importing that data into NATS but not sure whatever became of that. Any others?

We have looked into that many times .. it's hard to do.

Lightspeed does it because they ship the dvd's themselves. But we are also a large DVD distribution warehouse and have to attend to that. It's been hard to try and pull off.

I see, well I understand if you prefer to link to an outside store rather than ship the DVDs yourself to buyers. I don't know about MPA3 but NATS apparently has the functionality to track outside stores sales from pay site tours to affiliates for those stores that support it. Effex Media stores support this and I think Gamelink may as well.

I would consider is stealing if the sponser advertises leak free tours. Sometimes it is hard for big affiliates to check every tour for leaks. If there is a link for a store on a tour page that affiliate codes lead to then it is a form of stealing, if you do not inform the affiliate of the leak.

If not, then you are a traffic leak on their sites, and I don't really see why you are calling a kettle black. If you promote YOUR site being THE leak on said sites, what does it matter if others have leaks to other sites. Or are you just upset that it's not leaking to you?
