A Real NOOB Freesite Question !!!

OK so I want to create a free site (or 10) what software scripts do I need... is there one that does all, or do I need several different ones...

I have seen people mention Trade Pulse, Trade Plus and Smart Thumbs all pretty positively... but would appreciate clarification... what scripts ? what they do ? and preferably links to where I buy them ;)

Yes I know I want the world... might as well get you to build them and run them for me too

I'd create the sites in WordPress using a sales type theme like Flex Squeeze then use a trading script on the back end.

Yeah, is that unusual then ? I guess the importance of having your own traffic is something we've neglected, I put my hands up to be at blame for that...

I guess I always thought it was more the case of their being paysite guys, and free site guys, and the two had a symbionic relationship... but agree it's important to generate your own traffic...

Alas this is something we didn't do... but want to put right now

it can't hurt to try but it's not very realistic to be expecting to build a free site network that would produce enough sales to your own paysites that it would pay for the time/money put into the free site network. it would be a help but running free sites takes a fair bit of knowledge(SEO, trades, feeder traffic) to be successful at them.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

many have, and very successfully - takes great unique content and is harder these days with lower conversions and the decline of TGP/MGP's than it was.

I hear you Mutt... however we feel we have the sites in place now, all are scheduled to update for at least the next 6 months (well with the exception of 1 before someone else points that out lol)

So we want to get something up... we're hoping once we have a template we can pretty much plug it into other domain names...

I agree that it does need someone to manage it all... giving it the time it needs, and once we have the frame work in place we may indeed look to employ someone to do that for us...

What I want to do initially is doing the research as to what scripts we need to use for the trading of traffic... and also the thumbs...

I know most of it is probably researchable in GFY and in google... which we will of course do, but just hoped that maybe some peeps could give us a pointer or two... or maybe there were reps for the relevent software scripts...

Trade Pulse for the trading script... and Smart Thumbs for the TGP Script... Good idea or bad ?

Both of those have free scripts. Do not buy a script until you are making a profit with said site, start there. Also, for blogs, Wordpress is free anyway.

then do a blog network with WordPress and if you want to do TGP's too use Smart Thumbs. i'm sure Tradepulse is fine as a trade script, there are a bunch out there that people seem happy with.

Be careful to test which trade scripts damage SEO; it would make no sense sacrificing SE traffic for trade traffic, unless it was an incredible amount of trade traffic

Yeah Mutt I really like the idea of a blog network... I wouldnt really know where to start mind... maybe we need to hire someone to create this for us... does any one do this ? Or is it one of them things that is that easy we should the money and do it ourselves ?

And wehateporn... I would of though trade traffic was way more than anything we could achieve SEO wise... surely with the thousands of sites out there it's hard to get SEO traffic ? Please correct me if I am wrong... as I said I am a NOOB !

I guess a lot of it is Chicken And Egg... we are limited on budget and I cant see people doing it that cheap... so it may be a case of learning things and implementing them as we go...

One of the guys in our team is techie, even though I aint sure what his free site experience is, he is going to head up the development of the first "free site" and we're hoping that after the first most of it will just plug into a different url...

As I said Chicken and Egg... I would love to get someone on board from day 1, but I am sure any one who is experienced and knows how to make it a success, is making more money already than we could afford...

But I do totally hear what your saying and value the input

If you're going to be Alexa 5,000 with traded traffic, then yep, don't worry about SE, whereas if you're going to be Alexa 300,000 with traded traffic, then it would have been better to focus on SE IMHO

tbh running a blog network is pretty easy to get going.
get some hosting. if they have cpanel + fantastico or whatever you dont even need to bother with setting up wordpress. just make a few blogs, see what works ($$) + repeat.
get on sites like linkspun.com, trade links with sites, get up in search engines.

Again really appreciate the input... I think initially we'll concentrate on the Free Sites, before the blogs...

We'll review the two trading scripts that have been suggested... and the thumb script...

We churn out hundreds of blog sites a month, that's just for our purposes. It's not that expensive if you outsource and find good reliable regular workers.

If you want to run your own blogs but have them installed and hosted easily we have Fast Blog Hosting & Installation.

For a tradescript, I recommend Trade Pulse. Easy to set up, easy to use yet powerful.
To manage your galleries I recommend Smart Thumb or Smart Tube & Text. Not too har to set up (done in 15 minutes) and both works great together.
