well 'free' healthcare and other socialist welfare programs are definitely heavily factored in.

it's not exactly an objective list, you'll notice that there's only two non-English speaking cities ranked.

top US city ranked was Honolulu at 26 and then Pittsburgh at 29.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

I can't argue with that list, although I hope everyone includes the San Francisco Bay Area on their list of places to visit. We're not perfect, but we're pretty unique.

Anyway, I absolutely love Vancouver, and Australia and New Zealand are high up on my list of places to visit someday (are there any large adult shows held down under?).

Vancouver has turned into an absolute shit hole. It used to be such a beautiful city. Now it is over run by immigrants and bums. Seriously the city has gone to shit was there 1 month ago.

I've been to a fair number of cities and have to say that the US is my favorite place. Primarily because grocery shopping is easier ;p

I'd say that for Toronto and Calgary, they took that survey in June.. and not in January, when people forget about the bitter cold. We Canadians only remember the last 3 months worth of weather.

Don't know about Vancouver now, but in the 90's, early 2000's it was great.

But how the hell is Pittsburgh is even on that list? Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, New Orleans all far superior.

Vienna is an awesome city, its very livable.
Vancouver.... great city but almost as rainy as seattle and more crackheads passed out in alleyways or smoking dope in doorsteps then all the cities ive been to put together!

You have to remember that safety factors highly in to the calculation. Being as the United States has such a gun culture, you can expect US cities to not rank high.

The Vancouver riot happened too late to be considered in this year's rankings but will most certainly be a factor in the next rankings.

I'm not really allowed to own guns here in Canada. I know I can get them by the bucketload if I fill out the right papers, but I'm not comfortable with them and there's too many rules and regulations.
