                                                                                                              1. yes, some people are definitely hiding from IRS,... but that's not the main thing... because
                                                                                                              2. this board is based on reputation, postcounts, and board personas.

                                                                                                              So if I tell you I make $1500 per month, people will laugh at me.
                                                                                                              Everyone thinks the same way and that's why 80% of people posting about their income, are artificially inflating it.. or just posting pure bullshit.

                                                                                                              Either they want to fit better into the community, or they want to feel better about themselves, or they are just trolling.

                                                                                                              There are many people here earning really very small amounts, there's a good portion of people making a good living on it and some make a very very good living.

                                                                                                              The questions about traffic, conversions etc are totally stupid and naive, but don't get me wrong, I asked them as well.

                                                                                                              But as someone pointed out, dependent on the traffic source you can convert 1:100 or 1:5000. But keep in mind that normal adult traffic does convert rather shitty nowadays, and if there's any norm then it's definitely worse than 1:1000.

                                                                                                              But this industry gets worse and worse each year, that means it's harder and harder to make money. Some people will tell you "my income gros each year" thus making it sounds like my previous statement is wrong... but actually it is true. Those people are smart, they try new things to make money, scale them, automate and move to new stuff. So yes, if you're smart and you know what you're doing, you can surely grow each year. But overall it's getting harder to start and the conversions are getting worse, so hypothetically if you had a steady traffic source of 5000 visitors per day, today you'd be making less money than 3 years ago with it and FARRR, really FAR less than say 8-10 years ago.

It's the wrong place to ask these questions - there is a minority of actual webmasters here and many successful webmasters don't post on boards. Doubt over 50% of "webmasters" here earn even $2K/month. If you were to look at average sponsor program stats - 5% of affilates do the biz, roughly another 25% earn reasonable commission - and the rest are a waste of time.

                                                                                                                                          The online side of the adult biz is clogged up with wannabees (and, of course a fair number of them want their own "sponsor programs" *s*) who have no business accumen and could not run any business.

                                                                                                                                          That is not to say there are a number of viable/profitable businesses - know of a good few. These obviously vary depending on their sphere or activity or niche, but trying to establish an "average" is impossible - this depends on many factors - plus a few which may not be known.

                                                                                                                                          There are no "averages" available, but if there was - these would be a disaster and influenced downwards by "sponsor fodder". The flipside is there are plenty companies (and real webmasters) operating on the net and a fair number have existed for some time. Most of these folks you will not find here - and it's highly unlikely they are going to discuss what is in their bank accounts.
