Like you need to go to a convention to hear the idiots speak. I've been on GFY since the early days and I've noticed a dramatic decline in posts from reps who have a clue. There are a few guys who still post, but the majority of them are B-O-A-R-D-T-R-A-C-K-E-R (banned word? Why not just ban [Aa-Zz] and get it over with, I doubt anyone would even notice) whores who don't even ready the thread title, never mind the content of the thread. They just get in there and say "CHECK OUT PROGRAM/HOST X, HIT ME UP FOR A KILLER DEAL OUR CONVERSIONS ARE OFF THE HOOOOOK" - And lucky for them there are enough idiots here who will jump on any bandwagon to make themselves look good. They'll jack up their credit card to book their flight and hotel to the convention and try their best to give off an air of professionalism even after their 13th free jack and coke (THANK YOU SPONSOR X YOUR CONVERSIONS ARE OFF THE HOOOOK, I'VE BEEN IN THE ADULT GAME SINCE WAAAY BACK IN '06 AND THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN).



The majority of affiliate reps IMO are just paid publicity for the program, intended to go out and show people a good time, given little training or knowledge about the company they are representing. Their job is to make the program they represent look cool, and we all know that in this industry looking cool is what matters most to the vast majority. Still blows me away (no pun intended) how many people can handle that much smoke up their ass without coughing.


I suppose the same could be said about the hosts too. I see more and more of these reseller idiots popping up promoting their hosting company with a 2 week old domain name, or guys like baddog who represent an "established" host but have absolutely _NO_ clue what they are talking about. Sorry to single you out dude but you should stick to selling and steer WAAAAAAAY clear of any technical threads.


The moral of the story? Adult internet is joe dipshit's entry into the "Hollywood lifestyle" for the price of a shitty domain name. So many of you put your public persona so far in front of your business it's retarded.


And if you want to check what's important on GFY, you go and check the top viewed threads for the week here and I'm fairly confident (I haven't checked) that it will be threads like "BRITTANY SPEARS QUAD ANAL WITH THE COREY'S AND THOSE TWO GUYS FROM 90210 (pixxxxxx) " or "LINDSAY LOHAN CHUGS 7 COCKS IN A ROW (pixxxxxx)" . That pretty much sums up "Joe GFY" (or is it Bro GFY). Don't get me wrong, I've met many people from GFY at shows and at least 50% of you kick ass. It's the other 50% I am talking about. You guys SUCK.

I sure miss seeing my friends, but I am sure not missing the show BS by not traveling this year.

Enjoy yourself Justin, it could be worse, you could still be in Wenatchee instead of sweating like a bitch in the Florida summer.

Some year, I will make it to the summer internext show.

Last year at the Amsterdam party, I was approached by one of those "rent-a-rep" chicks, that told me how much I could save if I moved my servers to the program she was working for, because they had a free hosting deal. She didnt think it was a problem there were banner for other programs on most of the sites.


I let her talk and pay for my drinks for helf a hour. I was thinking about testing if she would have fucked me to close the deal, and then realiced she might have talked to Sleazydream before she came to me, so I just drow back to my hotel alone

I was at Vegas last month, Vegas last January and Phoenix March and I will be at LA November. I think the shows have a place and I like to do meetings and get some work done and most of the people I deal with seem to have where, what and who they are sorted but many jsut seem to do the party circuit and there for that.

I will do them when suits me and often enough to touch base with people I need to but cant imagine doing more than I do.

I notice this from a lot of people too, they come up with the fast hustle talk and a few leaflets and start saying "promote us and make a ton of money", then you ask a couple of basic questions about the sites or content and you get a blank stare.

hmmm .. I didn't go this year, and I know what I'm doing wonder what the correlation is. Justin, you need to bring yourself back to Manila.

I heard from a friend of mine who is there,not alot of people and not alot of booths.

thats one reason i wont hire a rep.

i prefer to answer all the questions, make the decisions, and cut out the middle man.

i hate when i am talking to someone at shows and they say "let me get back to you one that"

to me that means "i gotta go ask someone what that means" or "i dont have the power to make that decision".

it is kinda comical though. at the last two shows i met people brand new to companies that went to rep the companies that didn't even know what pps or ppc was.

It's probably the most RAW and nasty event I've seen at internext. Made me blush.

that is very true, the show floor is almost worthless it seems lol, not anything like it used to be, dont matter to me tho, i dont like that scene anyways

Wow that really sucks! The show in Florida was really good for a few years.. Even the last time we went we had a great time, with all the cabanas and the bikini contest in the pool, crazy lightning.. Is it really lame this year?

i'm not knocking the party crews at all, they aren't the ones approaching people.
It's the ones who come up and talk your ear off about something, and then don't know a thing past the sales pitch =)


Enough negativity though! The show is a lot of fun so far, and i've got to see my lovers like fuze!

I use to go every year to the Vegas show and the Florida show. I haven't been since 2004. The shows have just really died out compared to what they were in the Day. IMHO

And here I am still waiting on that content you were going to get me.
