I could probably stay inside indefinitely if I had the option of people just bringing stuff to me. That said, I don't think I've ever stayed inside for more than two days in a row. Very rarely even one day.

I have not kept track of it in a very long time but when I first started working on line back in 97 there was one stretch of time I did not touch the front of back door to my house for just over 8 months, I was working 18 hour days 7 days a week. I would get off the computer, eat a meal and lay down on the couch and sleep for a few hours before I got up again, showered and did it all over again............never again

Better to put in the time when you're young, though. Hopefully it paid off.

I have the job of my dreams and my kids know I am always here for them so it has paid off for me. I can still go a couple of weeks without leaving the house but I try to make more time for getting out. 2 weeks ago I spent a weekend at a friend's house. That marks the first time in years I have spent more than a couple of hours outside the house

I make it sound bad but I like being home around my family. One kid off to college the other leaving in a couple years I am greedy for their company before they start off on their own lives

As an agoraphobe I think my all time record is about 4 years of not leaving my home. Still struggling with that but moving from an apartment on the 4th floor to a normal house, some medicine and buying a dog did help me a lot.

I know the feeling, if not for Dr. appointments and groceries... the occasional parent/teacher conference, I would not have left in the last 3 years of living in this house.

Good for you! Make sure you do the things you mention. People "helped" me with about everything and I was very convincing for people to get me stuff. But, obviously, in the long run that is bad.

Anyway, at least I'm not ashamed for it anymore. That was the first thing that needed to happen if you want to move forward with these kinds of disorders. But it still sucks.

                                        One heavy work year,

I literally only left the house to get provisions such as food and other stuff.

But it was a solid year.

There've been times when I've had enough food stockpiled and the freezer full and a lot of canned goods on hand that I've gone maybe close to a month without leaving the house, or at least leaving my yard. Even when I've been home that long I still go out the door every few days. Grass still needs mowing, in winter the snow needs shovelling, etc. And at least once a month I have to head to the bank to deposit cheques.

For actually staying inside the house and not going near the door at all?... well, I couldn't say, at least with any degree of certainty. Maybe a week, week and a half tops. Then again I have been described as a part-time hermit.

I live in bumfuck so when it snows, I usually stay in for days. No one delivers here except for one pizza place that cant make a pizza without burning it so I just stock up on food. As far as how long I've stayed in the house, I haven't a clue off hand. My wife cant sit still for more than a few hours and is always on the go, so she often begs me to come with her - even though I'd rather stay home, I often go so I get some fresh air and sunlight.

No one delivers here except for one pizza place that cant make a pizza without burning it so I just stock up on food. As far as how long I've stayed in the house, I haven't a clue off hand.
