I've done some cutting play in my BDSM life, but even I'm shocked at the extent some ppl go to. More distrubing is that I see some of cuts touching, and like branding, could cause an infection and additional skin loss, or worse.

To those who think this is something new though - it's not. Scarification has been around for a long time and became really popular in the 19th century. It was (and im sure still is) really big among tribes from West Africa, New Guinea, New Zealand, and many other places. It was big among Eurasian tribes such as The Huns (Atilla The Huns tribe) also. A lot of the times its facial scarring too. It didn't really become popular in the US until the mid 80s. Either way it's pretty intense.
I've seen it done in person and I think i'll stick to tattoos.
