I have a Sony MVC CD400 and it takes really, really great pics. It's not an SLR but it's probably close to the same size and weight. It also uses mini CDRWs, which I like. You can get 1000s of pics on one or over an hour and a half of video. I got it when they first came out so it was over $1K, but I think they're a lot cheaper now.
I've tried using a few of the small ones that will fit in your pocket or that are lightweight, but the picture quality is always horrible when I compare.
